these young ladies become successful. I’m so proud that you are a part of this team and couldn’t have done it without you. Your dedication, hard work and friendship mean so much. CURRENT COURT: To my girls…I would like to give a big thank you to the Miss Silver Spurs 2015 Court- Baily, Aubrey Ann, Jr. Miss Silver Spurs Court - Annaliese, Sarah, Kaylee, Little Miss Silver Spurs Court - Maci, Ansley, Rachael. It’s been an absolute honor and pleasure to serve with such good hearted young ladies throughout the year. Just when I think we’ve had the best, you came along and made it better. You and your amazing parents dedicated yourselves in keeping the tough schedules and making every event special. You have made my job so much easier and way more fun than ever imagined. I am so proud of each and every one of you for making us all look good.

CONTESTANTS: I would like to take this opportunity to welcome and thank you for all your hard work in preparing and participating in the pageant. You are beautiful and talented young ladies and I wish you all the best of luck. It’s been an honor and pleasure getting to know each and every one of you. I hope you enjoyed the overall experience and will walk away with great memories and new friends. Although only one girl will be crowned, please know you are all winners just having the courage, ambition and determination to participate in this pageant. PARENTS: It is a pleasure to officially welcome you to the pageant family and want you to know that YOU are an important part of the whole pageant process. Those of us involved with the pageant have spent a great deal of time preparing for this week yet we all know the time we have spent pales in comparison to all that you have invested in getting your daughters to this point. There is no adequate way to express our heartfelt appreciation for all you have done to help your daughter(s) get to this point. The time, effort, energy, (not to mention money) spent in preparation is nearly impossible to calculate. Thank you for providing your daughter with this priceless opportunity to experience her dreams and for allowing us to be a part of the process and share this week with her.

MY FAMILY AND SPURS MEMBERSHIP: Thank you for allowing me the honor of being involved in something so great and rewarding. My compensation and reward is getting to see these girls achieve their dreams and become future leaders of tomorrow. IN CLOSING: This year and pageant is kind of bitter sweet. After much thought and prayer Laura and I have decided to step down. It’s time for someone else to step up and breathe different life into the program. We’ve enjoyed the ride and appreciate the many sponsors and committee members that have been with us throughout the years. We’ll continue working with the visiting state queens in February, as well as community, rodeo and pageant.

JUDGES: I extend a heartfelt thank you for your commitment and for taking time away from your busy schedules and families to assist us. You definitely have a tough job but we are confident that you will select the best from each category to represent the Silver Spurs Club and our Rodeo.

Master of Ceremonies

Richard S. “Ricky” Booth is 38 years old and a lifelong resident of Osceola County. In 2001 he graduated from the University of Florida with a B.S. with Honors. He currently lives and works on his family’s cattle ranch, the Doc Partin Ranch, south of St. Cloud. Ricky is also the founder and manager of the Booth Cattle Co. and Sunshine Ranch Management. In 2014 he was elected to the Osceola County School Board in District 5.

Ricky’s wife Erika was an elementary educator for 15 years. She now serves as a Projects Manager for Community Vision. Together they have 3 children – Nellie (11), Natalie (10), and Thomas (5). Both are Silver Spurs members. Ricky was a member of the quadrille team, has served on the Board of Directors, and was the 2011-12 Big Boss. His past voice work includes rodeo announcer for Kissimmee Sports Arena, Osceola County Cattlemen’s Association, and Volusia County Cattlemen’s Association, emcee of the annual Osceola County Agricultural Legislative Luncheon, livestock and charity fundraising auctioneer, and the Miss Silver Spurs Pageant.

2016 Program Tribute George Cross

The Miss Silver Spurs Pageant committee would like to dedicate this year’s program to a very special friend, and longtime Miss Silver Spurs program supporter, George Cross, who passed away November 3, 2015. George was the owner of Shore’s Men’s Wear, one of Osceola County’s oldest, and most cherished, businesses. He began working there in 1972 after marrying his high school sweetheart, Suzan, whose parents originally opened Shore’s in 1946. George’s zest for life, sense of humor, work ethic, and dedication to his customers kept Shore’s running through many years of ups and downs. Always kind and giving, George supported the Miss Silver Spurs Pageant program for many years by fitting and dressing escorts to walk both the Little and Miss contestants out onto the stage. George’s legacy lives on in his wife, Suzan, who continues to run Shore’s on Broadway in Kissimmee. The Silver Spurs Rodeo, and the Miss Silver Spurs Pageant program is forever grateful to George and his family for their friendship and support over the years. We are blessed to have known him. 8

2016 Judges

Adam Burnsed

Adam Burnsed is a native Floridian, and a graduate of the University of Florida where he received a degree in Animal Science, specializing in Equine Nutrition. Adam later completed a 4 year Executive Management program in Ireland at UCD Dublin’s Michael Smurfit Business School, which is Europe’s #1 business program. Adam currently resides in South Carolina and works as a senior account manager for DSM Nutritional Products in their Animal Health and Nutrition division and still travels globally to support their customer base. Aside from his day job, Adam assists his partner, Jared Beasley, with their personal businesses including Trailer Trash, Curls & Crowns and J Lloyd Custom Designs. Adam also assist in coaching girls to better develop their interview and presentation skills.

J. Lloyd Beasley (Jared) A native of Anderson, South Carolina, Jared Beasley is the owner of Curls and Crowns, one of South Carolina’s largest gown salons, and is the owner of newfound business, Trailer Trash, which specializes in high-fashion women’s clothing, jewelry and custom tack. Jared is a renowned hair and makeup artist whose achievements include designing custom gowns and dresses for National High School Rodeo Queens, multiple Miss South Carolinas and other Miss America/Miss USA contestants. Jared also coaches girls for all levels of pageantry, from the Little Miss ages to national levels. As a stylist, Jared believes that winners are those who are the total package, and prides himself in helping every girl make her dreams come true.

Marcinda Kester

Marcinda Kester is currently the County Executive Director for Polk, Hillsborough and Pinellas Counties Farm Service Agency Office. Previously she served as the Farm Programs Chief for Farm Programs and Freedom of Information Officer for Kentucky Farm Service Agency from 2011-2016. Ms. Kester served as the Agricultural Program Specialist for the 2008 Farm Bill Disaster Programs and Non Insured Crop Disaster Assistance Program from 2007-2011. Prior to moving to Kentucky, Ms. Kester lived in Florida where she served as the County Executive Director for 12 years and Program Technician for 3 years. During her tenure in Florida she was active with the State Agricultural Response Team and served on the Pigford-Glickman Consent Decree team in Washington DC for 4 years. While living in Florida, Ms. Kester lived and worked on a small livestock farm as well as participated in the planning and implementation of several local rodeos and served as the State Pageant Coordinator for Ms. Rodeo Florida. She is a graduate of Florida Southern College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Personnel Management and a minor in Industrial Psychology. Ms. Kester was born and raised in Austin, Indiana.

Baily Simpson

It all started with a dream. A little girl with a dream to be Miss Silver Spurs. She sat in the stands where you sit now, waiting to see who would be the next queen. As she watches Ashley Hall, Jessica Davis, and Monica Edwards get crowned Miss Silver Spurs, and looks up to them with amazement, that little girl decided that one day she wanted to be Miss Silver Spurs. But first sheâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;d have to start getting experience.

She ran for the title of Little Miss Silver Spurs and got to meet many new people. Kyndall Brown, Maddie Munns, Carrie Ann Clements, Jenna Herstich, and so many more. It was a passion she found to love. A few years pass, and she is finally big enough to run for the Miss Silver Spurs pageant. It was her second year running before all her dreams came true. She had finally become Miss Silver Spurs. I, being that little girl, have had the privilege to be your Miss Silver Spurs 2015. My year as your queen has been filled with so many memories that I will never forget. I have learned so many things and have met

FAREWELL FROM BAILY so many people. My favorite part about this year is getting to spend time with the state queens. I also got to spend a whole week with Miss Rodeo America and Miss Rodeo Canada. They are like the sisters I never had!

our western way of life, and those that they can inspire.

I would like to take this time to thank a few people. Maci, you are the sweetest little girl I have ever met. You make me laugh and smile. You are the true definition of adorable. You will always have a special place in my heart. Mom, thank you for always making sure I look on point. Thank you for always taking pictures of me and my trusty steed, Mare. I appreciate all that you do. Dad, thank you for hauling Mare around for me. Thank you for teaching me all there is to know about rodeo. Mom, Dad, thank you for all that you do for me. I love you. Mrs. Martha, thank you for always making wonderful clothes for me. They always look so amazing and I get so many compliments on them. I greatly appreciate all that you do for me. Thank you. Lastly, I would like to say thank you to Mrs. Liz. You have been like a second mom to me. You always lift me up when I am down. Thank you for always being there for me. Thank you for doing my hair for special occasions, you are the best! Thank you. Traditions are the driving force that makes the Silver Spurs Riding Club the organization it is today. June 4, 2015 was the start of my journey in carrying on these traditions. My name is Annaliese Catherine Grissom and I am your 2015 Jr Miss Silver Spurs. This past year has truly been the time of my life. From the moment I was crowned and the moments since it has been an honor working with the contestants, who are now embarking on this same endeavor, the blessing of amazing opportunities and the friendships I have made along the way.

Being involved in community activities such as the St. Cloud and Kissimmee Christmas parades and honoring our Veterans in the Veteranâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s Day parade was an amazing experience. I was also able to attend the Farm City Days, in which I explained to the children about our Silver Spurs quadrille team and showed them a few of the square dance patterns that we perform. Visiting schools throughout our county has also been a responsibility that I have thoroughly enjoyed. Speaking to little children and watching the joy on their faces as we help educate them

Finally, I want to thank my family, my mom and dad for always believing in me and encouraging me with all my endeavors, my siblings Amelia and Bennett for being my number one fans, and especially my sister, Aubrey Ann, I know that all of the events, queen hair, and even turning the bonus room into my very own “Queen’s Closet” was a sacrifice, but I truly couldn’t have lived my dreams without your love and support.

The most exciting part of my reign and the events that I will treasure the most have been our very own Silver Spurs Rodeos and the events that we were able to host in our arena! I will never forget the thrill of my first queens run as Jr Miss Silver Spurs. Coming through the ally gates of the arena and the feeling of pride I felt by accomplishing my dream of representing the Silver Spurs riding club which had finally come true. Whether it was representing the Silver Spurs rodeo during the National Finals Rodeo, Monster Bulls, or visiting our sponsors in the sky boxes each and every part no matter how big or small was a joy to experience. I couldn’t have asked for a more enriching experience.

Maci McDonald

Maci McDonald is the 12-year-old daughter of Bo and Alika McDonald, the granddaughter of Dr. David and Juanell Andrix of St. Cloud, Florida. Maci has an older brother, Schrade and a younger sister, Allie. Maci considers herself a true “Florida Cracker”.

Maci is honest, hardworking and determined to succeed at whatever she puts her mind to. She is proud of her American heritage and her Christian freedom. She has always had a love for rodeo and wishes to pursue her dream of barrel racing and veterinary medicine. Carrying on traditions here in Osceola County is important to her. Maci is proud of her Little Miss Silver Spurs title and has enjoyed the past year traveling throughout Central Florida representing The Silver Spurs Riding Club and promoting Osceola County and the great sport of rodeo. It was such an exciting year!

Maci is a 6th grader and attends Narcoossee Community Middle School. She is the Vice President for the FFA at St. Cloud Preparatory Academy. Some of Maci’s interests are: track & field, cross country, piano, hunting, and fishing, air boating and riding her horse Koda. Her absolute favorite past time is spending time at her grandfather’s veterinary clinic.
