Welcome to the 2017 Little, Jr, and Miss Silver Spurs Pageant! To all my girls, Maddie, Sarah, Rylie, Logan, Jennifer, Emma, Haylee, Ansley, and Rae Lynne- I have enjoyed each of you. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication in representing the Silver Spurs. Remember to always believe in yourselves and in the talents and skills that God has gifted you with; and don’t ever let anyone make you feel less than what you are, the Daughter of a King! My hope for each of you is that you will respect the traditions and people that came before you, that you would take a stand when change is necessary, and that you would have wisdom to know the difference. Parents, thank you for all you have done for your daughters this year. From carpooling, to float decorating, to trailer pulling, to clothes sharing, to hair curling, and horse swapping, you all have gone over and beyond and the girls have had a great time and have grown because of your dedication. Behind these amazing girls are amazing moms and dads. Thank you for sharing them with us! To my husband, Gibbs, thank you for supporting me in so many ways. For picking up the slack at home when I’m gone to appearances and meetings, for listening and helping me make tough decisions, you are always my rock and I know I can always count on you. Thank you again to all our supporters, sponsors, the committee, our gracious judges, and to all the families who entrust their girls to us. Our sincere hope is that they will enjoy learning and growing as much as we love watching them do so.

On June 9, 2016 at the announcement of the 2016 Miss Silver Spurs, I began on an adventure serving as pageant director of this amazing program…and what a year it has been! While this position has been new to me, the pageant and its traditions certainly have not. In fact, being in the Little Miss Silver Spurs pageant in oh, let’s just say the late 90’s, and then in Miss Silver Spurs in 2004, gave me a deep passion for this program. The growth and confidence these girls experience (and that I experienced) is what inspired me to take this position, and I am so glad that I did! As you can see, this is a major production; and no one person can do all that it takes to make this pageant what it is. I must say, this one amazing committee! The talent and dedication of each committee member is mind blowing, and I’m so thankful for the strong support system that they are. Many of our committee members have had major life changes this year- marriages, babies, moves, career changes, etc., and it hasn’t slowed them down! They’re always there when I need them. To my dream team, I truly could not have done this without all of you. From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU for your support and for carrying on this wonderful tradition! To the current queens and courts: Thank you all for being you! I am so excited to see where God takes you and I know you have some great adventures ahead of you. Maddie, thank you for being an outstanding role model. You are truly a class act, and I’m thankful for the time I’ve had with you. I know without a doubt you’re going to do great things in life! Sarah, our fiery red-head, you have a strength and determination to be reckoned with. I love that you let nothing stop you, and that you go after your dreams without holding back. Never lose that! Rylie, you have a light about that lights up a room. You’re just the right mix of sweet, spicy, and spunky. You’re such a joy to be around, and I love everything that you are.

Sincerely,

Tiffany Chapman Pageant Director

2017 Program Tribute Thirty-Seven Years of Congeniality “The heart of a volunteer is not measured in size, but by the depth of the commitment to make a difference in the lives of others.” This quote perfectly represents the dedication of our very own 1980 Miss Congeniality and longtime committee member Mrs. Sherry Hall. The Miss, Jr Miss, and Little Miss Silver Spurs Pageant committee would like to recognize Sherry for her thirtyseven years of service to our pageant and to our community. Over the years, Sherry has served in many areas from secretary, rehearsal committee, to scholarship chair, as well as production manager. Her gracious and giving heart has always supported the pageant and she is always willing to lend a hand and pitch in to get the job done not matter the task, big or small. A former Miss Congeniality her self- if you ever spent just a few minutes with her you know that she won this title for a reason. Sherry’s friendly personality and kind hearted spirit will always place a smile on your face. Friends describe Sherry as “one of the most sincere and hardworking people they know”. She helps out with any need that arises. She gives from the heart, she puts her heart and soul into everything she does, and her heart reflects her love for God and using her talents that He

has given her. And He has given her many! She brings out the best in others and is always encouraging them to succeed and to reach higher. We can not count how many lives Sherry has touched over the years from serving on the pageant committee. The words “thank you” just do not seem enough to express our sincere appreciation for you and all that you do. We love you and could not do this without you. Thank you for being a blessing to the committee, to the contestants, and your community. We are blessed by your service and friendship!

Sherry is the most honest, humble and loving person I know. She will come to your need in a heartbeat even if she is covered up with something of her own. She has such compassion for people and the employees she works with, she and husband Colin are our vacation traveling buddies and even on the cruise ship she try’s to get to know the workers. She loves the Lord and it shows. I am glad to call Sherry Hall my friend I love her dearly. - Tina Creech

Sherry and I have been married 33 plus years. She has always volunteered her time both to the Spurs, and to the KVLS. Sherry has a caring heart, and loves to help the girls in the pageant and watch them grow. In 1980 she was awarded Miss Congeniality and if you know her, you know why. I am thankful for her and glad to see she is being honored for her caring and giving heart! – husband Colin Hall

MISS SILVER SPURS 2016

Madeline Munns

It wasn’t too long ago that I was in these contestants’ position competing for the title of Miss Silver Spurs. I can attest that every single hour of studying and moment in the saddle was worth it. My year as Miss Silver Spurs has been the most humbling and inspiring year of my life. The people I’ve met and experiences I’ve had are irreplaceable. I will forever cherish the friendships I’ve developed and opportunities I’ve been given. I can’t pick a favorite moment because there were so many wonderful ones. I can’t pick a favorite appearance

because each one built my character in a different way. I can’t seem to pick a favorite anything because each day was my favorite. Each day representing the Silver Spurs Rodeo was my favorite opportunity. There are many who say the American cowboy is a dying breed. As I have traveled this year it is clear to me that the western lifestyle is alive and well. I have seen the spirit of the west in the eyes of a tie down roper as he walks his horse towards the box. I have felt it in the goosebumps I experience each time I carry the American flag on horseback, and it warms my heart seeing these girls prepare for an opportunity as the next ambassador for the greatest sport on earth. To every smiling face and encouraging word along the way, I say thank you from the bottom of my heart. Every rodeo queen needs a support system and my family, court, and sponsors have been my backbone. I want to say some special thank yous. Thank you first to my family for sacrificing so much to always allow me to chase my dreams. Thank you to my grandparents for being so supportive, and especially to my grandma who made the beautiful dress I wore last year as a contestant. Thank you Russell Drawdy for making me into the rider I am today. I definitely could not have won horsemanship without you and all that you taught me. Thank you Wild Florida and Bogin Munns & Munns for sponsoring my journey as Miss Silver Spurs. Thank you to Eva Snider and Sydnye

FAREWELL FROM MADELINE Bronson for always helping pamper me for each event. And thank you Keri DeLand, Tracy Clements and every single other person who has helped me get horses for rodeos or helped me with any Queen tips and advice. I couldn’t have done it without y’all. A huge thank you to Tihler Browning and Bruce Wilson Photography for all the gorgeous pictures throughout the year. Thank you Gary Ketchum for being a such a great Big Boss. I’ve really enjoyed working with you this year.

hold so dear to my heart. Tonight is the end of my journey, but I couldn’t be more excited for the girls that are just at their beginnings. Hold on tight because this year will be the ride of your life. Thank you everyone, and happy trails.

Madeline

I’d like to thank my fantastic court as well. Riley, you are such an adorable young lady and you have so much ahead of you. I’ve loved watching you grow and be such an awesome example to young girls around you. Sarah, you are STUNNING inside and out. I always knew I could count on you and I can’t tell you enough what an amazing queen you are. I love you both, thank you for making this year so great. I’d also like to express my gratitude to Tiffany Chapman for being such an amazing director. You have always been there for me and whether it’s a quick shopping trip in between events or talking about your adorable daughter Laurel’s latest adventure, I’m so thankful for all you have done for me and taught me. Finally I’d like to thank Silver Spurs for letting me live my dream and represent this culture and rodeo that I

the goal of losing over 60 pounds. Following this physical achievement, I not only became an ambassador to the sport of rodeo, but a competitor as well. The All Florida Junior Rodeo Association and now the Florida High School Rodeo Association have allowed me to live both roles in the world of Rodeo.

Throughout my year as Junior Miss Silver Spurs 2016, this scripture has always been on my mind. It all started 3 years ago, when I became the first ever Jr Miss Congeniality. The following year, I moved up in the ranking, and won 2015 Jr Miss 1st Runner Up. Then, with hours of studying, praying, speech reciting, and countless mock interviews, on June 9th, 2016, I became the queen. Junior Miss Silver Spurs.

Now, before this cowgirl rides away, I have to say my thanks to some special people. To my personal sponsors, thank you for supporting me financially the past three years. To the Silver Spurs Riding Club and Pageant Committee, thank you for keeping our traditions alive with our Rodeo. I hope I have made you all proud as your ambassador and as an individual. Tiffany Chapman, thank you for being an amazing queen coordinator. Maddie and Rylie, I love you very much. To Laura and Mark Kessler, you both have welcomed me into the rodeo queen world with open arms ever since my first pageant in 2014. Thank you for constantly and unconditionally pushing me to succeed. To the courts, Logan, Jennifer, Emma, Haylee, Ansley, and RaeLynn, you all hold a very special

Throughout my year, I have had the opportunities to attend many community events all over Osceola County, such as the MDA kids summer camp, Discover Osceola, Parades, a Pink Heels firetruck pull for breast cancer awareness, library visits, as well as school visits, all to promote our awesome Rodeo. Of course, the Silver Spurs Rodeo is the event that is closest to my heart. The past 3 years being on the court and now as a queen has opened many doors and wonderful people into my life. In 2015, I set a personal goal to better myself physically, and reached

To Mrs Liz, my hair would most definitely not hold without your magic touch. Thank you for everything you have helped me with the past year. To Thee Courtney Clair, my best friend. Thank you for all the pep talks, laughs, and unconditional support throughout my queen journey. You are going to do big things at Nationals in Wyoming. And finally to my Mom, Dad, Nonie, and Papaw. LITTLE MISS SILVER SPURS 2016

Rylie Conner

Well hello there, it’s that time a year again, pageant time. That brings up more feelings than I even know how to put into words. My name is Rylie Conner I am the 10-year-old daughter of Jeff and Chellie Conner, and big sister to Levi Conner. I attend Hickory Tree Elementary as a 4th grader. I am a current honor roll student, 4H member, All Florida Rodeo member, and Central Florida rodeo member. My interest includes rodeo on my horses Baby Girl and Ginger, fishing, hunting, and catching gators.

event. At the women’s show we strutted our stuff and showed some sass. The meals on wheels event we brought the rodeo to some old timers and filled their day with joy. We also were involved in several parades and library visits. It was a great honor to carry “Old Glory” once a month at Kissimmee Sports arena. I would have to say coming down the alley for Jr Barrels, as Little Miss Silver Spurs was such a rush. Riding “The Big Blue Boot” was a dream come true. During this year I’ve met so many wonderful people and made many new friendships. There is one in particular that I’ll never forget, Lacie Stark, she truly is an inspiration, from picking out my outfits, curling my hair, and doing my makeup you are the “Big Sis” I’ve always wanted. When she says your eyebrows need work, doing them yourself is never the answer!! Nana Liz, from the beginning you have been showing me how to sit, talk, and shine, God placed you in my path to guide me through these sassy years.

I am proud to be your 2016 Little Miss Silver Spurs and keeping this Osceola County tradition alive. I had the privilege to represent the Silver Spurs Rodeo during queen week and school visits. This was an amazing week with queens from all over the country. I also attended the Osceola Meals on Wheels

To my parents and grandparents y’all have shown me what true family is from following me all over Florida to countless hours in the heat. I Love Y’all! Last but not least my brother, Levi, who has probably inhaled as much hairspray as me and sat for hours just so I can look my best, I Love You more than words can say!

Love,

Rylie
