I served in a variety of leadership roles in academic and student affairs. I earned my bachelor’s, masters and doctoral degrees from UCF…Go Knights!
Q: How long have you worked in the Lake Nona community? A: I have worked in the Lake Nona Community since 2009 when I opened up our instructional site and the Collegiate Academy at Lake Nona High School. We moved to our new campus in 2012 and the Collegiate Academy has served over 600 students, with approximately 30 students earning their Associate of Arts before graduating high school.
Q: What impact does Valencia College have on the Lake Nona community? A: The Lake Nona campus is currently serving 2,500 students with an anticipated enrollment of 3,500 this year. We offer the entire Associate of Arts degree on our campus and will open our new, cutting-edge Associate of Science degree in Biotechnology Laboratory Sciences this fall. Biotechnology is one of the hottest emerging career fields today. Valencia’s associate degree program in Biotechnology Laboratory Sciences will prepare students to assist in laboratory experiments and research in genetic modification used to create useful products for medicine, food, agriculture and alternative energy sources.
Q: How can the community take advantage of what Valencia College has to offer? A: We welcome anyone to stop by our campus and meet with an advisor to discuss their goals, specifically those interested in the Biotechnology Laboratory Sciences program. Valencia is proud to be a partner in Lake Nona’s Medical City and even more proud to be a good neighbor to the families who chose to live in this community.
