Welcome First and foremost, congratulations and thank you for your interest in Amy Rollo Photography. How exciting for you and your family! The task you have in front of you is no easy one. Selecting your artist to tell your story is probably one of the most important decisions you will have to make in the upcoming months. One that will be with you for the rest of your life! Sure, where Uncle Pete sits and who gets chicken or beef are important decisions, but none carry the long term implications of your imagery. My goal is to tell your story in the most compelling way possible. I treat every event with the care and the trust that it deserves. What could be more important than giving your family beautiful images that provide enjoyment for years, and hopefully, generations to come? Bio A she-geek by trade, but a pixie warrior at heart. I grew up taking snapshots in rural New York, gained some big city perspective in NYC, mamboed with Italianos on a Florence photog semester overseas, and now find myself in Portland, capturing a gorgeously green city that is a mix of them all. My photographic adventures began in the darkroom making fine art black and white prints. My interest in fashion led to photographing models in NYC. These contrasting fields bring a photojournalistic fashion edge to my wedding work -- definitely something the modern bride and groom are really looking for. I try to capture dreamy, whimsical, and fashion forward images in every event. To hell with traditional, stuffy wedding photography! I want my bride and groom having fun! I know how important your day truly is. And I know how important it is to be compatible with your photographer. We can ruin your day and make it memorable for all the wrong reasons. You’ve got one shot at this and it has to be done right. There is so much energy and excitement on your wedding day and I love that! I feed off of it. But I have been told that I bring a sense of calm to the day when things start to get stressful (and they will). What is it that they say? “Even the best laid plans go awry.” You need a team that can think on their feet and go with the flow. Keeping you sane is an added bonus ;) Getting to know my couples and what’s important to them is an awesome byproduct of this whole photography thing. Knowing your story helps me create unique images suited to your personalities. Most of the photos I capture are candid -- the moments when you think no one is looking are priceless. But I also love setting up romantic, whimsical shots that are worthy of the best bridal magazines. What can I say? I’m a romantic at heart.
