We are all looking for a few tips for dealing with anxiety. Tips for dealing with anxiety that will help us diffuse that ticking time bomb inside of us that can contribute to a variety of physical problems such as high blood pressure, constipation, insomnia, shortness of breath, ulcers, nausea, acid reflux, and headache. Intense anxiety can also lead to depression if allowed to persist for an extended period of time. So finding and implementing credible tips for dealing with anxiety might not only be important to bettering your chances of achieving your day to day goals but may well help avoid a major health catastrophe in the future. Anxiety is a version of the fight or flight mechanism which in ancient times was used to escape from lions, tigers, or bears. But unless you work in a zoo filled with psychotic man eaters chances are the closest you're going to get to being eating by a wild animal is taking a trip to the bosses office to get devoured by his incessant insults and/or and that nerve racking yelling and screaming about being a team player. Modern day anxiety can come in many different forms or fashion besides our bosses office example. For example financial challenges, fighting hectic rush hour traffic, public speaking, and demanding office deadlines are just a few of the many ways where a fast paced modern lifestyle can produce a sometimes overwhelming wave of anxiety. Tips for dealing with anxiety * If possible exercise: There is no better way to diffuse anxiety than exercise but you may have to be creative to make this first of our six tips for anxiety work. Let's say you have a big sales presentation first thing in the morning leaving no time to exercise, what do you do? Simply, get there a few minutes early, park a few hundred yards away, and take the stairs instead of the elevator. When you get to the presentation you will have had a chance to release just enough anxiety to allow you to be at your best. * Learn to breathe: For me this has been invaluable and in my estimation is one of the very best of our tips for dealing with anxiety. When a person gets nervous their breathing gets very shallow reducing oxygen flow to the brain and the body. If you will simply breath in slowly through your nose, hold the air for a couple of seconds, then gentle release the air through your mouth a few times you might be surprised at how much better you feel. * Stay in the present: Sure you can plan for the future but you must live in the present, not allowing past failures to sabotage future successes. * Drinking and smoking up anxiety: Avoid nicotine, alcohol, caffeine, and chocolate. This fearsome foursome may initially take the edge off but anxiety will return, and in a big way.
* Talk, talk, talk: This is true especially if you are a woman. Women require over seven thousands words a day to be happy. Men only about two thousand. Ladies if you aren't getting your words you may be feeling a great deal of anxiety so talk, talk, talk. This alone may be enough to send your anxiety the way of the Dodo bird. * Consider an herbal remedy for anxiety: If the tips for dealing with anxiety listed above aren't quite getting the job done considering a safe and effective herbal remedy could be the answer.
