The assignment was to generate a marina in an industrial area with old boats and disused warehouses located in Plaue, district of Brandenburg an der Havel. Due to the programmatic monotony of the area, mostly residential, it was proposed to reactivate the urban area not only by creating a marina with a touristic character but also by creating a system of public spaces at different scales related by an ecological theme practicing the principles of permaculture. Thus urban pieces are generated from city scale services, to community market, and learning workshops. The project is understood as a cycle that tries to be self-sufficient through the products generated by the community itself. This is the attraction of this tourist area, how people who always live here converge with people who come and go, and discover the life of this community.

Explanation of the different urban pieces.
Duplex building for the project’s permanent residents, a building that alternates productivity on all levels (first floor with energizing services and basic services, productive housing and cultivation deck) and public circulations towards the project’s access façade.
The project also includes a rental housing for the residents, and permaculture workshops on the first floor and cultivation gardens on the outside.
Residents’ housing with rentals focused on customers interested in crafts, with first floor workshops and located in a productive green environment.
