APROXIMACIÓN INICIAL, PROPUESTA DE COLLAGE
Exploro a través de un collage las maneras de aproximarme a la nave. Decido combinar plantas de Pinós y Miralles, y de Langarita y Navarro para componer un plano con lenguaje orgánico y fluido. Se contrapone a la ortogonalidad y modulación absoluta de la nave, al mismo tiempo que introduce un diálogo entre ellas. Se tensionan los espacios a través de entrantes, salientes y líneas de fuerza.
En el collage de sección incluyo elementos en altura, 3 piezas verticales que apoyan con múltiples “patas” en el suelo, atravesando las cerchas sin apoyar en ellas (estructura independiente), inspirándome en Lebbeus Woods o el rascacielos horizontal de Moscow de Herzog y De Meuron, empleando dibujos de Chris Cornelius. También incluyo piezas en alzado de la intervención de Matadero de Langarita y Navarro y secciones de Pinós y Miralles para un posible auditorio, generando además variaciones y excavaciones en el terreno.

El cerramiento de cada uno de los espacios es independiente de la estructura general, muchos de ellos tienen también autonomía estructural. Mientras que otros como la biblioteca, el gimnasio-circo, o el parking-neo utilizan las vigas y las cerchas singulares superiores como parte de la configuración de su sistema constructivo

Establezco la estrategia de mantener la totalidad de la estructura de base de la nave, también una de las naves adjuntas de tejado a 2 aguas y cerchas Howe y la torre para ensayos de ascensores. Elimino el resto de piezas adosadas, por sus excesivas limitaciones espaciales.

Este boceto fue el desencadenante definitivo del proyecto
El programa de condensador social debe incluir vivienda, producción, ocio y cultura Además de un requerimiento específico para cumplir con las necesidades de los anteriores “habitantes” de la nave, un parking para autobuses. Tanto relegarlos a un área específica como enterrarlos completamente no me llaman como estrategia. Decido otorgarles un espacio central (ya que es un programa sin especiales necesidades lumínicas o visuales) y organizar el resto de programas más sociales alrededor de este espacio, en el perímetro de la nave.
