DESIGNER PROFILE
FASHION AND PRINT DESIGN
My name is Ana Miranda, and I am a fashion and print designer. As a young Designer I recent acomplished my degree in Fashion and Textile Design (2017) with a final collection of five looks total, all sketched and made by me. I decided to move to London to start my first internship as a Print Designer at Mary Katrantzou’s luxury brand (2018). Now, I’m seeking for new opportonities in this magnificent city.
I was born in Portugal, more precisely in on of the islands, Madeira. Moved to the mainland to start my degree with 18 years old, on a city called Castelo Branco. After three years, and now with 23, I diceded to go on a new adventure by applying to a programme called ERASMUS+ and move to London to start my Intership, finishing in February 2018, after London Fashion Week, which I took part on backstage. I’m always looking for new adventures even if it means moving cities, exploring new cultures and learning. It’s more important than ever to continue to grow professionally and personally.

N AT U R A L N EU T R A L S K I N FINAL COLLECTION 17 CONCEPT With the name of “Natural Neutral Skins”, and as the own indicates, this collection was inspired, based on the skin and their different tones and unique characteristics that each one presents. Inspired also by the works of the photographers, Carissa Gallo, Dominik Tarabanski and Brock Elbank, which they represent the spots, skin color and the interaction of the same with surfaces in identical tones. The transparency and layers are also transmitted in this collection, searching for the light tones of the skin, where it is possible to see the veins and their color.

Starting way back before High School, my passion for hand drawing was beign shown to the world. So at 15 years old, I dicided to start my studies in Visual Arts. Later came the digital world and the love was stronger, but never leaving behind the hand drawing work, wihch I continued on college as well.

- ONE OF THE MANY INSPIR ATIONS
“Eugène Séguy (1890 – 1985) was a French entomologist who published many portfolios of illustrations and designs from the turn of the century to the 1930s who worked in both the Art Deco and Art Nouveau styles. Séguy wanted to use his artistic skill to glorify the sublime beauty of nature, creating what he called a ‘world of sumptuous forms and colours.’”

LONDON FASHION WEEK
“William Morris (24 March 1834 – 3 October 1896) was an English textile designer, poet, novelist, translator, and socialist activist. Associated with the British Arts and Crafts Movement, he was a major contributor to the revival of traditional British textile arts and methods of production. His literary contributions helped to establish the modern fantasy genre, while he played a significant role in propagating the early socialist movement in Britain.”

POINTILLISM “Pointillism is often considered part of the Post-impressionist movement. It was primarily invented by painters George Seurat and Paul Signac. While Impressionists used small dabs of paint as part of their technique, Pointillism took this to the next level using only small dots of pure color to compose an entire painting.”
