HELLO, I’M ANA architect & urban designer

Born by the Mediterranean sea, I developed an unlimited passion for travelling and learning from other people and cultures. For a shorter or longer time, I have lived in Barcelona, Dublin, Budapest and Bonn. Always curious, enthusiastic and quite idealistic. In my spare time, I enjoy all kinds of sports, especially those which take me into the beauty of a mountain landscape.

architecture as catalyst I believe architecture has the potential to create positive impact into society. When designing buildings and open spaces, we, as architects, design a part of the lives of its users too: their well-being, physical and mental health, routines, mobility, integration, and, if we consider climate change, even their future. For me, architecture and urban spaces need to seek a more holistic design, using greenery, light, wind, and water, to achieve user comfort and passive strategies. As shown in the following pages, I pursue the vision of an architecture that cares about its future inhabitants as well as its own environment: innovative architecture

with social and sustainable values.

A social hub for the neighbourhood and a new end – cultural instead of commercial- for the city promenade. The city council requested ideas for a new urban library: not so much a book container, but a space for social interaction. How many different uses can a library accommodate? The proposal builds upon this question to develop an urban oasis: a shelter among fields of flowers.

Collective-built architecture with recycled materials as a social strategy to foster training and employment. In a neighbourhood hit by housing evictions, poverty, city isolation and high unemployment, the city council intends to expand the green path to connect it to the rest of Barcelona. The proposed intervention enhances sport and leisure facilities while implementing social policies.

HOUSING MEANS SOCIAL SPACE Poble Nou, Barcelona. Spain

Public housing adapted to user’s lives, while offering public space and facilities to the neighbourhood. In the renewal of a neighbourhood with an industrial past, the urban fabric reveals itself full of lost, isolated residual spaces. The proposal connects and amplifies them to create public spaces connected to renovated buildings for cultural use and progressive housing units.
