// About I am an architect graduated from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (ETSAM). Both during my career and since I finished my studies, I have continuously developed my professional skills both in a curricular and an extracurricular level. My collaborations as Junior Architect in several studios, as well as my participation in lectures and workshops in my home university conformed the base of my current portfolio. I am interested in those architects that take the permanent evolution of the world and the city as drivers of their designing process and decision making in order to operate in singular and contradictory contexts.

Madrid, 10th of November 2016

To whom it may concern: I have had the opportunity to meet Ana Herreros in several moments of her career. To begin with, I met Ana as a student at my chair group. Secondly, I was a member of the jury of her bachelor thesis. In both occasions, Ana obtained the maximum possible qualification. In the first place, the project she developed at my chair group in the year 2013 got selected for being exhibited at the Venice Biennale of Architecture, becoming a representative of the highest academic level of the Architecture School of Madrid. Regarding her bachelor thesis, Ana stood out for her critical and analytical skills by proposing the reactivation of an obsolete project through the recovery of a cattle grazing practice. Ana’s proposal was transmissible to other cases in the world, showing an active thinking. Plus, Ana’s way of thinking was considered to carry a visionary philosophy in which the architect as an individual and its piece as a sculptural object have no more place to be. Ana’s architectural performance denotes a deep professionality and a high concern for the social, cultural and political changes that take place in the environment. For her, these factors are to be used as projecting tools with which design complex and evolving scenarios. Last but not least, her commitment, seriousness, open-minded personality and capacity of working are characteristics that perfectly define her. To conclude, given my position as Director of the Projects Department, an in the name of the School of Architecture of Madrid (ETSAM), I consider Ana as an important addition to any master programme of architecture, which she will provide with big amounts of ambition and commitment. I am doubtless, thus, to recommend Ana as a candidate the master programme she applies to.

Faithfully,

• Alfredo Thierman (Santiago de Chile). Phd Architect from ETH Zurich-

“Ana has an intellectual capacity that allows her to expand the limits of the problem to propose and design. She has an enormous capacity of working in team and a great emotional intelligence” contact: athiermann@gmail.com

• Pedro Feduchi (Madrid). Associate prodessor at the Polythecnic School of Madrid. Partner of Pedro Feduchi Studio. - “Ana has not only an open and lively personality but also a serious and positive disposition to face every kind of challenge. She has an innate capacity to adapt to new ways of thinking and her willingness to learn and be part of the project taking important decisions in every moment are perfect aptitudes for any kind of architecture office”

A quien pueda interesar:

Atentamente,

María Langarita, Arquitecta
