The unique, outstanding international degree that prepares you for the USMLE® examination
An academic opportunity to become a medical specialist in the USA.* Program structure
A 6-year program of 90 courses structured in 12 semesters and 500 academic credits, through which you will receive the necessary preparation for a successful performance in the USMLE® examination.
Year one and two
During these first two years, you will start with medical sciences such as morphology, physiology, nosology and therapeutics given in English and Spanish. In this period, theory and practice come together in the lab, with highly-advanced technologies, that you will start using during the first semester.
Year three and four
In the third year, you’ll begin your clinical training divided in sixteen weeks of class each semester. You will also have access to workshops for the development of cultural skills, training you to practice medicine in an international environment. In the third and fourth years, you’ll begin your clinical training having the option to develop your clinical training in over 40 hospitals in Mexico through the clinical afilliation of the “Anáhuac Universities Network” with hospital centers all around the country, the US or some centers in Europe.
Fifth Year
This is the internship year. A part of your program that is a mandatory year, essential for the medical student to integrate and consolidate the knowledge you acquired during the previous years of study. How can you become a medical specialist in the US an get a medical license?
Sixth Year
The sixth year is “Social Service”. All students of any profession must perform social service in the terms of the mexican laws in order to obtain a degree. Corresponds to the final year of professional development of medical students in higher education institutions, assign to a urban or rural Primary Health Care Facility of the Mexican government, throughout the state of Quintana Roo. After concluding the 6-year program, an official certificate of studies legalized and apostilled by the Mexican Government is awarded to students who pass all courses of the program and USMLE® examination STEP 1 and STEP 2 CK & CS. Furthermore, the student will receive an Institutional official Title as a medical graduate that certifies completion of the program.

What is the USMLE® Examination?
As an International medical student/graduate that pursues ECFMG Certification you must submit an Application for ECFMG Certification. The Application for ECFMG Certification consists of an on-line application and the Certification of Identification Form (Form 186) available through ECFMG’s Interactive Web Applications (IWA). The Application for ECFMG Certification requires that you confirm your identity, contact information, and graduation from or enrollment in a medical school that is listed in the World Directory as meeting ECFMG eligibility requirements. The examination requirements for ECFMG Certification include passing Step 1 and Step 2 CK & CS of the USMLE®. USMLE® STEP 1: assesses your understanding of and ability to apply important concepts of the basic sciences to the practice of medicine, with special emphasis on principles and mechanisms underlying health, disease, and modes of therapy. You will have to take USMLE® Step 1 at the end of your basic sciences formation in the second year (fourth semester). In order to advance to your clinical Sciences formation, it is mandatory that you take and pass this examination within six months after finishing basic formation. USMLE® STEP 2 CK & CS: component asseses your ability to apply medical knowledge, skills, and understanding of clinical science essential for the provision of patient care under supervision, with an emphasis on health promotion and disease prevention. The Clinical Skills (CK & CS) examination is a separate component of STEP 2 that uses standardized patients to test your ability to gather information from patients, perform physical examinations, and communicate their findings to patients and colleagues. You will have to take USMLE® STEP 2 CK at the end of your clinical sciences formation in the fourth year (eighth semester). In order to advance to your fifthyear (Internship), it is mandatory that you take and pass this examination within six months after finishing clinical formation. USMLE® STEP 3: assesses your ability to apply medical knowledge and understanding of biomedical and clinical science essential for the unsupervised practice of medicine, with emphasis on patient management in ambulatory settings. The USMLE® program recommends that, for STEP 3 eligibility, you should have completed, or be near completion of, at least one postgraduate training year in an accredited US graduate medical education program that meets state board licensing requirements. Is the final examination in the USMLE sequence leading to a license to practice medicine in the United States without supervision.

Bilingual Learning to practice medicine in both English and Spanish. You will be taking intensive courses or summer courses. Being bilingual and culturally aware will make you a physician with a much more international approach, valuable in the eyes of clinical administrators around the globe.
Requirements of Admission Pass the pre-medical course. - B2 level-B2 level (upper intermediate or advanced) of English. - B2 level (upper intermediate or advanced) of Spanish.
Admission process • We have a rolling admission process, which
means we review applications and enroll students year-round. This process takes no longer than 10 days. • We offer a pre-medical course to take our students into the world of medicine, serving as a preview of the journey they will begin. • We also give you the opportunity to begin medical school twice a year, in January or August. • The Admissions Committee reserves
the right to request additional information from the applicant and decline admission at any stage of the process.
Pre-medical course: • This course facilitates the student’s
acquisition of optimal competencies for study prior to initiate the International Medicine & Surgery Program. • Is a five-week (132 hours) online-course offered in english, twice a year in February and October.
