Anais Amin

Anais Amin is a multifaceted professional based in Los Angeles. She combines her journalism, marketing, and community activism talents. She completed her Master's in Journalism at Columbia University and has significant experience in radio production, brand management, and social advocacy. Anais leverages her storytelling and social justice skills to foster positive societal changes. Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Anais attended the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in English. At UCLA, she engaged deeply in student government and leadership roles, serving as one of 14 paid and elected council members responsible for representing over 30,000 undergraduate students. Her involvement in student government allowed her to advocate for social justice, access to higher education, and mental health services for returning veterans. She was key in promoting awareness and education about social justice on campus, leading a team of 40 volunteers to drive these initiatives. She also moderated a political debate among U.S. House of Representatives candidates. Pursuing further education, Anais earned her Master of Science degree from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism in 2020, focusing on multimedia journalism. Her notable academic projects include a detailed 5,000-word analysis of a Syrian refugee family's resettlement in the U.S., a published article on her family’s escape from genocide, and a video project on medication-assisted recovery. While at Columbia, she also reported on civil and criminal issues in the Bronx, uncovering stories about sexual abuse in Orthodox schools and excessive force by private security personnel. Professionally, Anais began her career in radio production, initially working as a production assistant at Marketplace, an acclaimed public radio program produced by American Public Media, from January to December 2022. She researched, interviewed, and created content for radio and digital platforms there.
