PERSONAL STATEMENT ‘I don’t breathe through architecture, even if I want to, because architecture breaths through me. I am the key for it to let its wings spread. It just wants to make the world a better place.’ It is undeniable that the world we live in had been changed with the help of architects and artists and they have shaped it with their aspiration and creativity. I believe that architecture means more than just tall buildings for business people. For me, architecture is a manifestation of creativity and innovation which we can use to create a responsive mechanism that interacts with its environment and has the greater purpose of creating an impact on the people surrounding it. Architecture can contribute in making a new path in life. Furthermore, it is my goal to be part of a such respectable and beautiful community that serves its purpose in helping and keeping high living standards for everyone. Thus, having an unimaginable desire to create “beauty” around the world and living my mark with my passion for design, construction and art, I have chosen to embark this career with the purpose of having a great contribution and impact on a better future. Sustainability and innovative technologies are the key points in my focus, (see final dissertation paper) for the upcoming stages of my professional career as I believe that these two areas are the main drivers into the future of Construction. I have been driven by the possibility where more sustainable materials and intelligent technology would be combined with the art of architecture so that all the innovative ideas that have been stuck in my mind could see the light of day. Communication and building management are skills that I have been developing for 3,5 years during my education at VIA University College, and I found out that are vital in the role of an architect/constructing architect, and especially to a team player, as we deal with a glut of specialists and suppliers to assemble all trades into a singular space. Therefore, I strongly believe that, with my current skills, with my passion to shape and change for the better the built environment, and with my desire to learn more, I have a great package to be considered an ideal candidate for this career.

SINGLE FAMILY HOUSE PROJECT VIA University College, Aarhus BA in Architectural Technology and Construction Studio leader: Peter Stellfeld
This is the first major project in the 1st semester, which required to design a single family house in Stautrup. Everything had to be designed and oriented according to the couple’s needs and wishes. The project was developed only for the Outline Phase (Competition), which had us presenting a final brochure with all the necessary drawings and sketches of the design process and diagrams of the accessibility in the house. Besides the technical drawings, 3d visualization and realistic photos were presented during the evaluation. The house needed to have a modern and simple architectural design and to be strategically in the subdivision of rooms. Moreover, the house had to comply with at least one sustainable solution and to fit the family’s limit budget by finding the best quality-price choice. The drawings were made on both hand-drawing and digitally. Program used: Autodesk Revit

SINGLE FAMILY HOUSE PROJECT VIA University College, Aarhus BA in Architectural Technology and Construction Studio leader: Peter Stellfeld
This was the second single family house project with discussions with the client and brief document. The brief was stating clearly that a family with 2 kids and with a wheelchair member would like to have a home that could fulfill all their needs and that can have a great view. The house was designed on 2 floors where we have a living room and an open kitchen that have its orientation to the terrace in the back of the house, 2 bedrooms for the kids and a master bedroom with a wide balcony near. Both floors have bathrooms, with the one on the ground floor specially designed for disabled people. The house also is suited with a basement where all the technical rooms and maintenance were added and a with a recreation area for kids. All analysis and drawings were done in both hand drawing and digitally. Used program : Autodesk Revit

OFFICE & SPORTS HALL BUILDING + CONCRETE ELEMENT SPECIALIZATION
This was the 3rd semester project where we moved from small single family houses to more complex and mixed used category of buildings. The used type of building was a hall sports with an office area and maintenance. For this particular project we were introduced to the supplier methods of construction and management and we get to develop working drawings and specific documents and reports including the maintenance and delivery of the elements to the site. My experience in this semester was with concrete elements and I gain knowledge in how a prefabricated element is fabricated and in what conditions and what type of reinforcement should be used and why. Besides the anatomy of the concrete element, I had to be able to create a mounting drawing and

plan to show in each order should the elements be mounted on site and in what condition should they arrive on the site. This was done for a more efficiency in erecting the building in time and providing a quality assurance. All of the necessary analysis was done before completing the specialization in concrete elements. All analysis and drawings were done in both hand drawing and digitally. Used program: Autodesk Revit

RESIDENTIAL & COMERCIAL COMPLEX + WET ROOMS SPECIALIZATION
The project was carried in the 4th semester of my education and it represented a residential and commercial complex. The project has been developed only in the Outline Phase (Competition) and Schematic Design Phase. After all the procedures, drawings and details, we had to specialized in one of the most important building parts and I was interested in completing a whole specialization in regards of wet rooms. Therefore, I had to prepare all the necessary component drawings and details for every type of bathroom in the building and to successfully eliminate every damage possibility that might appear into the structure. All these drawings were compiled with a lot of information for building services and management materials. Besides the neat drawings, all the technical installations analysis and calculations were carried individually. Site plan & Elevations

REFURBISHMENT: URBAN RENEWAL PROJECT
The project had the purpose to create a situation where we have to deal with a partial demolition and creation of an extension to an existing building. The drawings show a part of a residential building from the beginning of the 20th century and as it may be seen from the floor plans a part of the old design was removed in order to create an extension. The old building was made out of bricks and clay and the demand for the extension was to be build out of a steel structure. This gave me the opportunity to find out more about the way the buildings were constructed in the past and how to manage to connect and old structure with a new and modern one. Besides the newly extended part, the old building was brought to the new demands on 2010 building regulations. During the project all the necessary drawings and details were done so the process could be explained more easily. The drawings were carried both digitally and hand drawn. Used program: Autodesk Revit

SUSTAINABILITY: INHABITING GELLERUP The project was made to aware concern of what type of precautions need to be taken when a building is demolished and how to proceed in this type of situation. In the brief the client is stating that the zone should be modern and attract as many young couples and families as possible. The project needs to have a touch of modernism, sustainability and ecofriendly design. All the design and creation had been made in collaboration with Aarhus School of Architecture and afterwards all the analysis had been taken individually. The analysis was made in order to make the project more design efficient, financial stable and to fulfill all the requirements in energy frame and sustainability movement. Some of the analysis are: fire safety and emergency exits, structural, technical installations and daylight.
22
For the old building that had to be demolished in order to start the new project, as a future Constructing Architect I gained knowledge in how to demolish a building and what parts of the building can be recycled and how, and nevertheless to take precautions when some building parts are contaminated with hazardous substances. The drawings were done digitally. Program used: AutoCAD All the analysis were sketched afterwards on the digital floor plans.

FINAL PROJECT: Hjulmand og Kaptain – New Headquarter – Office building project Prize award winner VIA University College
The final project was in collaboration with the internship company, Schmidt Hammer Lassen Architect, which provided me the competition handbook of one of their projects. The building is a new headquarter for Danish law company: Hjulmand og Kaptain. It has 2 floors with meeting rooms and offices and one non-habitable basement with technical rooms and archives. During the project I had to complete all the phases, from Schematic Design Phase until the Detail Design, with concerns in Case management and Tender documents. All the phases contain analysis in regards of fire safety, technical installations, structural stability, etc. and specific drawings and documents for the authorities. At the end of the project, I took care of the management part and I prepared all the necessary documents for tender and bids.
Since my education prepared me to be a Constructing Architect, in all phases I had to draw and manage to solve some construction problems that might appear into the structure. The detail drawings have been made with all the technicalities and measurements that need to be fulfilled in terms of moisture, fire, sound and cold bridges protection. Nevertheless, sustainability was one priority of the project and I managed to bring the building to meet 2015 energy demands by using solar panels.

“Ruseløkkveien is a central cross-section and a symbolic focal point for the new modern Oslo. The architecture interprets the surrounding volumes’ characteristics and heights and adds a new and unique architectural expression. The complex is a combination of exclusive shops, high-end offices and parking facilities available to the city center, ensuring a lively urban environment. From the outside, the project appears as a tight sculpture that adapts to the different scales of the site and to the city’s street profile. New passages and squares create shortcuts through the block. Enhanced integration between the building and the city is achieved by introducing two new areas - entrance square and the inner courtyard. The office areas are of a modern, robust design with a high level of quality and are designed to make maximum use of daylight conditions, as well as offering spectacular views of the Oslo skyline and fjord.” Source: www.shl.dk
