The Project

The Site

The project would aim towards designing a Health and Wellness facility with prospects for future expansion and accommodation for Visitors and Staff in the sub city of Dwarka, that is functional in all its aspects and generates public interest through creation of well defined and humanized experience of healing.

The project site is located in Sector 09, Dwarka, New Delhi near the Sector 08 Dwarka Bus Depot and next to Dwarka South Police Station.

The current programme for the Intermediate Private Hospital proposed is limited to 250 beds, which could be extended further if required in the future due to the availability of high F.A.R.. and increasing demand for hospital beds in and around the city.

The OT complex here was designed following the British System of OT Design where the typology of having dirty ring outside was followed. The dirty ring gets natural ventilation thus making it feel less foul.

DIRTY CORRIDOR (Corridor that connects all OTs to the Decontamination core. The decontamination core takes the dirty utility and the dead bodies to the basement. Here the Dead bodies are further sent to the mortuary. The dirty corridor is kept on the exterior so as to create a noise buffer) STERILE CORRIDOR/ZONE (Corridor that brings in sterile supply to the OT and has the hand sterilization zone. It connects to the public access corridor/clean corridor. The changing rooms, etc. are also connected to it) CLEAN CORRIDOR (Corridor that connects the OT to the recovery room, reception, etc.)

ELEVATION A WHITE POLISHED GRANITE PANEL • Adds contrast and texture to the space • Feels vibrant and blends well yet stands out with the greens and the context, which is mostly grey grit finished CURTAIN WALL • Maximizes and improves the quality of light in the interiors of the building. BRICK CLADDING • Adds contrast and texture to a space • Helps to add warmth to a space, especially when red brick is exposed, creating a homely feel. • Creates a focal point within a space, just like any other wall covering.

Light frit colors and certain pattern designs can cause enhanced brightness when viewed from indoors under certain daylight and background sky conditions, while dark frit colors will tend to reduce glare.
