The answer is the purpose of the question. A photo is an answer. It can be seen independent of the question. Just as it is. Not an image but an object in space and time. We aren't always aware of the variety of the photographic language and the richness of its history. photography is part of our recent history and a global language.

NASA Surveyor III footpad 2 imprints, (id 5787,0) 20/04/1967, United States Vintage silver print, Very Good 30,8 (35,5) X 26,3 (28,2) cm 450,0 Euro After Surveyor 1's initial studies of the lunar surface in 1966, Surveyor 3 made further inroads into preparations for human missions to the moon. Using a surface sampler to study the lunar soil, Surveyor 3 conducted experiments to see how the lunar surface would fare against the weight of an Apollo lunar module. The moon lander, which was the second of the Surveyor series to make a soft landing on the moon, also gathered information on the lunar soil's radar reflectivity and thermal properties in addition to transmitting more than 6,000 photographs of its surroundings.

José Espinal No Title, (id 5785,0) +/- 1930, France Vintage silver print, Excellent 21,8 (23,2) X 28,6 (29,5) cm 650,0 Euro Born in Barcelona in 1887, José d'Espinal lived much of his life in Changé near Laval, France, where he died in 1969. He was well known for his pictorialist work, including his seascapes. He was active in the photography salon of the 1920s-30s, including the 1928 2nd Salon International d'Art Photographique du Bruxelles, the 1930 Internationell Fotografi Utstaallning i Skaanska Gruvan Skansen at the Nordiska Museet and the 1930 6th Salon Internacional de Fotografia de Zaragoza, Sociedad Fotografica de Zarag Pardo. Like many pictorialists, he often worked in the gum and bromoil processes. His work greatly resembles the other noted Spanish pictorialist José Ortez Echague.

The photos can be picked up at the Gallery in Izegem, Belgium or are shipped with registered mail. We have been searching for a shipping method which guarantees the best security at the most interesting cost. We have the best experiences with Registered Mail by the Belgian Post. Other shipping methods are possible. Please contact us prior to your order. All photographs are available for inspection on our premises by appointment, or at your location through special arrangement. The availability of photographs is subject to prior sale. All prices are subject to change without notice. All photographs are returnable within seven (7) days of their delivery date, packed carefully in the same packing material in which they were received and insured for their full value. All prices are in Euro and do not include shipping. Payment is required in Euro either by PayPal or by Direct Bank Transfer. All transactions are confidential and, unless specifically authorized, credit card details are deleted from our records when transactions are complete. Founded in 1997 in Belgium is specialized in vintage photography from 1850 until the 1950's. The large inventory of about 15.000 photos is a mix of several styles, periods and subjects questioning the nature of photography based on the historical and esthetical context. The photographers are well known or befitted amateurs or unknown photographers. Roughly the inventory can be divided into several points of interest: pictorialism, inter war photography, German photography of the FKK and astronomical photography.
