El Centro Oceanográfico de Baleares (COB) es uno de los nueve centros costeros que el Instituto Español de Oceanografía (IEO) tiene distribuidos a lo largo del litoral peninsular e insular. Su principal objetivo, desde su creación en 1906, es investigar los ecosistemas marinos, su funcionamiento y biodiversidad, la ecología de las especies que los componen y sus relaciones con el medio ambiente y la explotación pesquera, desde un enfoque multidisciplinar e integral. The Balearic Oceanographic Centre (COB) is one of nine coastal stations that the Spanish Institute of Oceanography (IEO) has distributed along the coastal mainland and islands. Its primary objective, since its creation in 1906, is to investigate the marine ecosystem, functioning and biodiversity, the ecology of the species they contain and their relationship with the environment, from a multidisciplinary and comprehensive approach.
