RehaCom – Frequently asked questions Installation of a new version / update We recommend a data base backup at regular intervals. Before the installation the data base has to be saved. You get to the data base backup via System  Data backup  Backup/ Restore. You can find a detailed description in the manual on the RehaCom CD.

RehaCom dongle is not recognised! Please disconnect the dongle from your computer. Insert the RehaCom CD, click on the button in the starting window, and follow the installation instruction. If the starting window of the CD does not open automatically, it is possible that the auto start function of your CD ROM is deactivated. In this case, you can also start the driver installation "manually". The driver is on the RehaCom CD in the folder \Sentinel. There please execute Sentinel Protection Installer 7.4.0. Even if the message 'driver already installed' appears, you should continue the installation. After the completion of the installation, the computer should be restarted and the dongle reconnected to the PC. With the next start of RehaCom you have to tell the programme that you want to work with the full version. In the RehaCom main window please choose: 

 „With a patient´s keyboard or dongle“

RehaCom panel is not recognised! Some computers don´t automatically recognise connected USB panels on theirs own. Please connect the panel to your computer via a USB port and restart the computer. If the connected USB is still not recognised, please insert the RehaCom CD and execute the automatic hardware recognition. It can be started via  Set up  Control panel  Hardware (also see Windows manual). During the next start of RehaCom you have to tell the program that you want to work with the full version. In the RehaCom main window please choose: 

 „With a patient´s keyboard or dongle“

Where are the manuals for the RehaCom procedures? The individual RehaCom procedure manuals are on the CD in the directory \Manual\Englisch.win. After the installation, a Windows help program is available on the hard drive. Each procedure has its corresponding help file (AUFM, GESI, VIGI …). Directly from RehaCom you can press the key F1 for the corresponding help.

RehaCom went back into the demo mode

Either you are out of licenses: While RehaCom is open, take a look at the buttons “System” and “Licenses”. Order new ones. Or you disconnected the dongle or the panel from the computer: Please connect the panel or the dongle to the USB port of your computer again. Please choose the license mode „With a patient´s keyboard or dongle“ under the button “System”, while RehaCom is open.

Which keys on the keyboard correspond to the keys on the RehaCom panel? RehaCom panel Red minus key Yellow plus key Green OK key Right (A) Up (B) Down (C) Left (D)

PC keyboard Minus key in the number keys Plus key in the number keys Space bar Arrow right (not in the number keys) Arrow up (not in the number keys) Arrow down (not in the number keys) Arrow left (not in the number keys)

RehaCom does not differentiate between the left and the right OK key. Both keys are equal and are substituted by the space bar on the computer keyboard. The procedure REA1 /Reactivity), though, is an exception. In this case the left OK key is substituted by the space bar, like said before, and the right OK key is substituted by the ENTER or RETURN key, respectively. We recommend, though, using the robust RehaCom patient´s keyboard for the reaction training procedures.

Can you use your own pictures and texts in RehaCom? In the procedure ”Physiognomic Memory“ (GESI) you can edit the name, job, telephone number, and sex of the individual person by using the editor in the parameter window. Here it is possible to blend your own pictures into the training in BMP and JPG format (e.g. family members). In the procedure ”Verbal Memory“ (VERB), in a similar way, personal stories can also be blended into the procedure. Again you can access the editor in the parameter window. In the case of the procedure "Shopping" (EINK), country-specific product pictures are already in use. If you wish to add your own specific products please contact our support staff (see below).

Can RehaCom be tested without having to pay for the license? If you wish to try something or have a look at a new procedure, RehaCom can be started in the demo mode (no license charge). In order to do this the RehaCom panel and the dongle have to be disconnected from the computer. By starting RehaCom again it is now available in the demo mode (lowest and highest level available only). If you reconnect the panel or dongle to the computer and restart the program then the full version is once again available for usage.
