Ancala’s online magazines and publications was founded and generated by IN Creative and Marketing. IN came up with the idea with intensions of doing a small mailer for the local businesses that wanted to direct mail to the existing potential customers in the surrounding communities.

In Creative and Marketing’s team realized very quickly that there were not only local businesses that would like to be in the publication but also larger customers that would like to target that same demographic of higher income brackets and elite names, celebrities, doctors and business owners.

D
on Edwards and wife, Jill Edwards, have been the force behind The Estate Watch & Jewelry Company for over thirteen years now. Their storefront, located in historic Old Town Scottsdale, is home to a wide variety of treasures from high-end timepieces to rare, vintage jewelry pieces to contemporary designer pieces—all gently used and at great discounted prices. The company is developing quite a reputation in the Valley and greater Phoenix area not only for its excellent prices but for fair buying practices. The Estate Watch & Jewelry Co. features only pre-owned, authentic items which are supplied by people just like you. On any given day, you will find clients in the store waiting patiently to sell their unwanted gold, diamonds and watches to the Edwards who have been offering top dollar for these types of items for years. The company offers a wide variety of services, including buying, selling, trading, and consigning. They also offer appraisal services, watch and jewelry repair, and custom jewelry design. BUYING Don Edwards has quite an extensive history in the jewelry industry. He started when he was just 15, traveling around the country on buying trips. He has over 30 years experience in the buying side of the industry, making him an excellent resource for anyone looking to sell. Not only does he make fair offers, but he is also incredibly knowledgeable about the industry as a whole. Clients are pleasantly surprised by the no-pressure atmosphere when they come to sell items. Don encourages sellers to get more than one offer—and more often than not, sellers come back to him at the end of the day. The company consistently offers the most money for your watches and jewelry, and their ever-growing client
base is evidence enough. The buying process at Estate Watch is very simple: just bring in any items you’re looking to sell, and then Don will evaluate each piece individually. There is no charge for a buying evaluation, and there is no obligation whatsoever to sell. If you’re happy with the offer, the company will issue a check to you that is cashable immediately. If you’d like to shop your items around a little bit more, you are more than encouraged to do so. With gold reaching alltime highs in the last few months, the Edwards set themselves apart from their competitors by offering top dollar for your jewelry and watches. Buying evaluations are based on market price of gold the day you come in, and offers will stand as long as market values do not fluctuate dramatically. This allows you a longer window to shop your items and make sure that you are getting the most value. UNIQUE INVENTORY If you’re in the market to add to your collection, this is the place to be. Because the business collects their inventory from all walks of life, there is literally something for everyone in stock. The company’s massive inventory is displayed in their gorgeous storefront for you to admire.
The friendly staff is happy and eager to lead you to the perfect piece—in your price range. The inventory is quite extensive.
Whether you’re looking for your own collection or a gift for someone else, you’re bound to find something perfect. They have a vast array
of items with gorgeous precious gemstones like sapphires, emeralds and rubies. They also have a stunning selection of diamonds. From earrings to necklaces to rings to bracelets, you won’t be able to leave the store without absolutely falling in love with at least one of their pieces. The company offers a huge selection of various high-end, name-brand watches that have been gently used and refurbished for resale. All items are guaranteed authentic, and all watches come with a full one-year warranty from the date of purchase. You will find brands from Rolex, Breitling, Cartier, Panerai and Patek Philippe to Ebel, Movado, Omega, Tag Heuer and Concord. There are watches in a variety of styles: dress, sport, vintage, and even pocket watches. Just as with the jewelry, there is also a watch for everyone—in a wide range of prices to match your budget. TRADE Perhaps you’re looking to trade out one of your pieces to upgrade to a new style. The Edwards will make you an offer on your piece(s), and you can apply that value to any item in inventory. This practice is great for watch collectors. If you find yourself with a watch you’re just not wearing anymore, bring it in! You’re going to get a great offer, and their wide selection will give you plenty of options. The way the Edwards see it, if you’re not wearing it anymore, get something new that you’ll enjoy showing off to your friends—and at a fraction of retail! CONSIGN If you’re not in a hurry to get quick cash for your unwanted jewelry or watches, the company offers an amazing consignment program. The process starts out the same as the

Once it sells, you get that actual amount, not a percentage of it. Plus there is no mandatory time frame to leave it at the store. If you decide after a week—or even a day—that you don’t want to consign it, you’re free to come pick it up. There is no charge for the consignment program, giving you extra incentive to give it a try. WATCH REPAIR It’s time to get that broken watch in your drawer up and running again. The Estate Watch & Jewelry Co. has a certified on-site watchmaker who has been servicing and repairing watches for over 30 years. The watches are serviced using nothing but factory parts, and they give a full one-year warranty on all work.
CUSTOM ORDERS
APPRAISALS
Is there a watch you’ve always dreamed of owning? Did you see a brand new piece from your favorite designer in a magazine? Bring your requests to The Estate Watch and Jewelry Co.!
The on-site appraisers at Estate Watch are happy to assist in valuations of jewelry and watches for insurance purposes as well.
The Edwards have far-reaching industry connections to find virtually any piece you’re craving. Maybe it’s a new model Rolex, only out this year. Maybe it’s a new bracelet from David Yurman. Regardless, the Edwards will use their extensive resources to find you the piece of your dreams—that is, if they don’t already have it in their impressive inventory.
The store provides estimates to its clients before any work is done to the watch so that clients know exactly what the issues are and how much the cost will be. Now there’s no excuse to keep your watch hidden away. Even if it just needs a battery, the Edwards are happy to supply it for you—usually for only ten dollars!
The same holds true for all the jewelry that has been prematurely retired to your jewelry box because it is broken. If you love it, you need to wear it! Bring it in, and the skilled jewelers at the company can bring any broken piece of jewelry back to life. Most repairs only take a few days, and the prices are unbeatable.
If you have any additional questions, concerns or comments, please contact them by phone at 480-946-9940 or by e-mail at sales@watchlink.com. The store is open Monday through Friday from 10am to 5pm, and on Saturdays from 10am to 4pm. They are closed on Sundays.
CUSTOM DESIGN
To create a custom piece, designers invite clients to share the design idea, whether it’s a picture or drawing or even just a detailed description. The designers will then sketch the design to make sure that’s exactly what the client wants. Clients are involved throughout the whole process to ensure the piece’s success. The final product never fails to impress, and the client gets to walk away with the picture-perfect piece.
It is so important to have your jewelry and watches formally appraised for insurance purposes. Though everyone at the company hopes you will never have to use it, they urge their clients to protect themselves. The appraisals can often be done on the same day that you bring it in, and those few minutes could really be beneficial in the terrible event that a piece is lost or stolen. The Edwards, along with the staff at The Estate Watch & Jewelry Co., welcome you to visit their storefront at 7121 E. 5th Ave, Ste. #23, Scottsdale 85251, or you can shop online at www.watchlink.com.
JEWELRY REPAIR
Some clients come in with a specific idea in mind, whether it is repurposing a family heirloom or creating the perfect engagement ring. If there’s nothing in inventory that perfectly fits your ideal, there are jewelry designers on staff to help bring your vision to life. Clients are never disappointed by their custom work because the jewelers won’t rest until it is just perfect.
The certified gemologists evaluate, describe, and value your pieces for a low, flat rate. The first piece to be appraised is $75, and each piece brought in at the same time is only an additional $15.

We’re thrilled that you’re considering Tempe for your next getaway, because we have something exceptional in store for you. One of the first things you’ll notice when you arrive is the sti rring beauty of our Sonoran Desert. The remarkable clarity of light, exotic cactus blossoms and lush desert landscape create an environment that will leave you inspired. It’s the perfect place to breathe a little deeper, let go of everyday worries and settle into an easier pace. That’s when you’re ready for some Scottsdale-style adventure and exploration. To help you plan your journey, we’ve reached out to some of our favorite local experts. From out-of-the-box ideas for exploring Mill Ave. and favored local hiking trails to the best food and Arizona wine pairings, they’ll give you the inside scoop on the best our city has to offer. So sit back, relax and let your curiosity ride shotgun as we introduce you to Tempe from the insiders’ points of view.
SCENIC: GRANITE MOUNTAIN LOOP I’ve often said that despite its sharp and spiny fingers, the Arizona desert has an uncanny ability to steal your heart. This trail proves it. Slip away from the city and be immersed in a land of texture and drama. Saguaros march across terrain punctuated by giant boulder slabs, while craggy Granite Mountain dominates the skyline. Granite Mountain Trailhead anchors the northern portion of Scottsdale’s McDowell Sonoran Preserve. Start on Bootlegger Trail, then Saddlehorn before connecting to Granite Mountain Loop. The trail hugs the lower slope as it makes a languid circle delivering relentless panoramas and soulnourishing solitude. The hike maintains a gentle grade for the 6.1-mile round-trip. Trailhead: Granite Mountain (31402 N. 136th St.) Difficulty Rating: Moderate KID-FRIENDLY: HOLE IN THE ROCK It’s not much of a trail really, more just a scramble up the back of a hill to a cave, which is what makes
it so perfect for kids. And for geezers like me who never forgot the simple joy of climbing on rocks and exploring holes. The trail in Papago Park provides access to one of the distinctive buttes of crumpled sandstone that resemble scoops of partially melted petrified ice cream. Eons of erosion gouged out caves and alcoves in the rocky formations, and a wide path takes you to the most prominent. It’s an easy 0.2-mile climb around the backside to a big natural opening. Enter the chamber once used as a solar calendar by the Hohokam people and enjoy commanding views of the Valley of the Sun. Of course, the hike is just the start of a great day. Papago Park also is home to two of the region’s most popular destinations, the Phoenix Zoo and Desert Botanical Garden. Soon as you’re rested, climb down for your next adventure. Trailhead: Hole in the Rock (Papago Park Rd. east of Galvin Pkwy.) Difficulty Rating: Easy

Why Castle Connolly Top Doctors? Clinical Excellence. In the words of this Castle Connolly Neurosurgeon, “Clinical excellence comes from a passion to do what’s best for each individual patient who trusts his or her life and wellbeing to your care.”* For over 25 years, our research process finds those who share this passion and committment. These are the doctors other doctors choose for themselves. Look no further than the Castle Connolly name.
SHOW SEARCH Delaying Necessary Care Can Be More Harmful Than COVID-19 An important note from the Castle Connolly Medical Advisory Board Twitter Email Show more sharing options In this time of upheaval in our society due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it is vitally important that patients not ignore medical issues. Unfortunately, there is mounting evidence that too many patients are forgoing other necessary and often critical health needs because of their fear of contracting COVID-19 in a health setting, be it a physician’s office, medical clinic, or a hospital. In fact, a recent study conducted by the Commonwealth Fund estimated that patient visits in June were down as much as 30 percent in some specialties. For many patients, avoiding their medical needs may have severe consequences, equal to or greater than contracting COVID-19. Specifically, postponing or ignoring such critical services as mammograms, colon cancer screenings, exams for skin cancer, and many other important care encounters can be not only unwise but also devastating. “Delaying elective surgery is deferring needed care and may worsen your medical condition,” says John Morton, MD, division chief for bariatric and minimally invasive surgery at Yale School of Medicine. “Surgery can and should be performed safely in the time of COVID-19.” “One of the important collateral issues is to provide assurance to patients that critical ancillary testing needs (e.g., MRI, CT, echocardiogram, endoscopies) can be done safely and in line with social distancing guidelines,” says L. Dade Lunsford, MD, FACS, FAANS, professor of neurological surgery at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. “Cancer and acute stroke care should not be delayed.” According to Suzanne Oparil, a cardiologist at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and also a member of the Medical Advisory Board, people who are working with their doctors to carefully manage their medical conditions are in a better position to survive COVID-19 than those who are going it alone. This body encourages patients to continue their active relationship with their primary care physicians, specialists, and surgeons to ensure their overall health is not impaired because of fear or neglect. Your physicians and other health professionals are eager to help and guide you using the skills and dedication with which they have been trained and to reassure you that their clinical settings are well modified to meet mandated safety guidelines. If patients are considering delaying care, then they should consult with their physician first. Primary care physicians and pediatricians will not only provide patients with guidance on what care is appropriate to delay, but can also ensure that they are in optimum health and lessen their chances of developing COVID-19 complications.

Editor’s Comments, All I have to say is man it’s tough out there. If we all stay together, stay healthy and practice new social ways we will make it through this. Over the last six months we have been meeting new business owners and surrounding community residence all over the valley. If we missed you, we will reach out and catch up to you sooner or later or just give us a call we would like to meet you. Most of the people are friendly and outgoing. I want to thank all the business owners for letting us walk into your door and especially the ones that could see what this could do for their business. Ancala and McDowell Mountains Magazines, annual reports, collateral and brochures was created and is being generated by In Creative, PR, Marketing, and innovative, Interactive mobile web Solutions. We realized very quickly that there were not only local businesses that would like to focus on our services and would be like to be in the publication but also larger corporations it would like to target the same demographic higher income brackets, elite names, celebrities, doctors and business owners. In’s online magazines and more mission is to provide wealth an awareness back to the community and provide contributions to charities, schools, kids and those in needs. Events and networking functions have already been performed for fundraisers and community community outreach programs that are already being planned for upcoming months that may be by you. I want to thank everybody for waiting so long that would you have been told that this was going to be big. It’s here and it’s here to stay to help. Thank you, Matthew W. Mayes, BFA Founder, Creative / Art Director, Designer and developer
