Anchal (on-chal) - noun 1. the edge of a sari used to provide comfort & protection to loved ones. 2. shelter Anchal’s eco-friendly products are made from layers of vintage cotton sari held together by a simple running stitch. Each one-of-a-kind product becomes an investment in new economic realities for exploited women in India & gives them the opportunity to become agents of change in their community. Anchal’s multi-faceted program gives women design training, a living wage, educational workshops & a distribution network for their creations.
