ARCHITECTURAL PROJECTS
Kissing the earth The first step was to study Klotz house in Tongoy, by Mathias Klotz. This first step gave the direction to create a museum that explains the recurrent tendency of architecture to rescpect the natural ground. Humans have cultivated this idea since the beginning of architectural theory in the greek temple. This basic concept creates a characteristic architecture. Volumes are located in landscape, dominating it, like an alien and giving the sensation of transience. The architecture of the museum is the first “art piece. It is constructed on a plinth that follows the urban grid. It has a prefabricated character, opposite to its surrounding. This architecture is related and separated at the same time, to the city by this plinth.

Library in MontjĂźic The aim of this rehabilitation is to conserve the spatiality of an antique sports palace and to take advantage of its posibilities creating a good quality library. Specialized programs are located in the new perimeter modules, preserving the big central space for the users of the library itself. The treatment of the main facade returns the equipment to the city. By adding this new volume, a new recognizable image is given to the building. Besides, this space is the point where old and new are merged into one.

Museum for VicuĂąa Mackenna The project begins with the consertvation of an antique original neogothic construction of VicuĂąa Mackenna. The new building tries to put in value this antique architecture. The urban analysis, reveals particularities in the area of the museum: existence of alleys, yards and caracteristic edifications. The new volume plays with these preexistings and makes them part of the project by giving them a program. Furthermore, there is a play with the floor level that creates very interesting relations betweenthe street and de museum.

Urban planning for Castelldefels The charge consist on transforming an old freeway in the coastal area of Gavรก to revalue this area full of potential but lackcing of atractive. The project studies intersections between some ways coming from the urban area and the freeway. All this intersections are considered strategic points to regenerate this area. Finally, one of this points is chosen and transformated into a urban core that spreads its activity until the beach of Gavรก.

COMPLEMENTARY WORK
What is a bridge? The aim of this project is to rethink the concept of a bridge. It is proposed that a brigde is something more than going from one point (A) to another (B), a bridge is what happens in the middle (C). An imaginary (not specifically related to architecture) guides the process of creating a project that acts as a manifiesto against the functionallity of common bridge structures. Human body as an object that is transported, everything that moves in our body, organic architecture, scale play and paradox.

Beijinj - Barcelona A reform for the market Panjiayuan in Beijinj collaborating with students from Austin (Texas) and Tsinghua (Beijinj). The synthesis of occidental and oriental culture made us understand a market as something more than the exchange os material products. To achieve this final result we propose three objectives: Visual fluidity Turn the market into a cultural exchange space Achieve social interaction and integration This first stage, was followed by a second workshop in Barcelona (ETSAB) where we implanted the concept of a market of intangibles in four blocks of the Eixample.

Urban planning for San Carlos The final project interpretates the charge of transforming an antique channel in Santiago de Chile, as an opportunity to rethink the sense of public space in the city and its relation with citizens. Farther than looking for a final result, the whole work tries to create a graphic manifesto to rethink these peoples spaces. Six themes related to the urban space are raised to create images that merge paradox, fantasy, reality, imagination...

Objects Even thought the concept of a chair is really basic, it is one of the most rethought by humans. Rethinking it once again and using wood as the main material, we create a simple object without pretentions but full of strenth and opportunities. This piece of furniture, is both, a table and a chair with three different positions. In addition, its simple shapes make it perfect to be used as many other things.

Tupolevs The project finds an unique solution that solves the problems of each type of house and the three types of users. Respecting the old structure, an humid central nucleus is implanted in each flat. All the activity of the flat is around this nucleus. Spaces are flexible and suitable for all the types of users. The core of staris is located outside the original building in order to emphasize the morphology of the tower as a constructed manifiesto. Furthermore a meeting space is created in each floor conecting the core and the tower.
