The Navigator The Anderson County Library System Newsletter

January 2019

New Year, New You A new year is a great time to try something new. Check out the wide variety of resources that we offer on drawing and painting, sewing, coding, woodworking, gardening, and much more. The Anderson County Library has access to over 2.75 million items through SCLENDS on an extraordinary number of topics including cooking, organizing, budgeting, decorating, and so much more. If you need a book or DVD that we don’t have at your library, simply call us or go to your library account online at sclends.lib.us.sc and request it. If you ever have wanted to unearth your family history, now is the time to get started. Visit the South Carolina Room at the Anderson Main Library and use databases such as Ancestry Library and HeritageQuest. Want to learn more about computers and navigating the internet? Take a class at the Anderson Main Library and get hands-on help. We offer one-session classes on email, Microsoft Word, Windows 10 and more. See our schedule inside. If you can’t visit the library, computer courses are also available online through LearningExpress Library and Universal Class, which can be found by visiting our website and clicking Research. Universal Class has a lot more than tech training; over 500 courses are available, including topics like baking, meditation, and writing. Learn a new language, a new craft, or how to DIY pretty much anything with Hoopla Digital. With the Hoopla Digital app, you can download ebooks, audiobooks, movies, and comics and you never have to worry about late fees as the items are returned automatically. If you need help locating any of these resources, visit or call any one of our nine locations throughout the county. Try something new today! All locations will be closed Tuesday, January 1 for New Year’s Day and Monday, January 21 for Martin Luther King Jr. Day
