Meet the Author:
Meet author Mary Cecilia Jackson and hear about her debut YA book Sparrow. She will be in conversation with Emily B. Martin, author of the Creatures of Light trilogy. This event is free, and copies of Sparrow will be available for purchase and signing. In the tradition of Laurie Halse Anderson’s Speak, Mary Cecilia Jackson’s devastating but hopeful YA debut is about a ballerina who finds the courage to confront the abuse that haunts her past and threatens her future. Also at this event is Foothills Alliance, a nonprofit that proves education, outreach, and treatment for trauma and abuse in Anderson and Oconee counties. Copies of Sparrow are available for purchase courtesy of Fiction Addiction.
