Vail, COLORADO

Considered by many to be the premier North American ski resort, Vail’s name is synonymous with skiing, snowboarding, luxury and the legendary Back Bowls. With 5,317 skiable acres and ample terrain and terrain parks to accommodate skiers of all ages and abilities, it’s no wonder why so many snowsport enthusiasts remember the first time they saw Vail and have fond memories of family and friends in what’s arguably been “the bar” in terms of ski/snowboarding experiences for more than 50 years. It’s the type of place where family traditions are formed such as the popular “skied the run Christmas on Christmas” or enjoying spring skiing and sun tanning on any of the “on mountain” decks, patios and restaurants.

Founded in the mid-1960’s, Vail has expanded from the original Gold Peak and Bridge Street neighborhoods as far as East Vail and West Vail. It’s neighborhoods include quaint ski chalets, easily “lock and leaveable” condominium units and large exquisite homes of varying architectural types; many ski-in, ski-out. You don't have to be a skier or snow-boarder to enjoy Vail in the Winter, however. The Vail Nordic Center offers cross country skiing and snowshoeing experiences while Vail Village and its sister village Lionshead have shopping and dining options to keep the most tireless shoppers happy.

By night, Vail Village offers lively nightlife with a wide array of ski bars, clubs and restaurants. Iconic Vail staples like the Covered Bridge, Clock Tower, Children’s Fountain and Pirate Ship Park add to the experience and provide a backdrop for memories that will last a lifetime.

Beaver Creek, COLORADO

Vail’s sister resort built in the 1980s with the intent of being the utmost in luxury, Beaver Creek is a household name in skiing throughout North America and the world. Home of the Birds of Prey downhill race course, it is center stage in the international world of ski racing and that influence is especially felt during race times when the entire village comes alive with sportsmanship and good natured, international competition.

Fine dining, galleries and relaxed night spots are staples of the Beaver Creek experience, which perhaps caters less to those with a desire to kick their heels up, and more to those who approach aprés skiing and nightlife with an element of refinement. Beaver Creek offers skiable terrain for everyone and every level of skier.

Connectivity with Arrowhead and Bachelor Gulch ski areas provide a true village-to-village ski experience and allows all three resorts to ski bigger than their actual acreage.

Non-ski related activities in Beaver Creek include nighttime ice skating in the center of the village, taking in a show at the renowned Vilar Performing Arts Center and weekly fireworks displays.

Bachelor Gulch, COLORADO

Bachelor Gulch, also part of the Beaver Creek village-to-village ski and snowboard experience, is a unique community within the Beaver Creek community. Anchored by the Ritz-Carlton Bachelor Gulch, there is also a multitude of real estate product types in Bachelor Gulch including condominium units and single family homes. In fact, Bachelor Gulch boasts more ski in ski out homes than any other community in the Vail Valley.

In addition, the ski in, ski out Ritz-Carlton Bachelor Gulch offers fine dining, a wonderful grandiose mountain atmosphere and fun nightlife for guests and owners of all ages; including S’mores. On-mountain restaurants and bars specific to the Bachelor Gulch ski area offer a wide variety of casual and upscale dining options including the popular Zach’s Cabin in addition to several fun, vibrant and lively aprés spots enjoyed by both locals and visitors alike.

Because it’s in it’s own enclave on Beaver Creek Mountain, Bachelor Gulch often sees less skier traffic than most areas on Beaver Creek. This makes it a great place for beginners and children to hone their technique and for a romantic vacation ski day.

Arrowhead, COLORADO

As the western access-point to Beaver Creek’s village-to-village alpine experience, Arrowhead village is one of the best-kept secrets of the Vail Valley. Arrowhead provides passage to all of the skiing and snowboarding terrain and parks on Beaver Creek Mountain. The Arrow Bahn Express ski lift makes blue and black runs just one chairlift away, while providing excellent beginner and intermediate terrain.

The Arrowhead Alpine Club is one of the Valley’s most iconic liftside ski and snowboard clubs. In addition, adjacent Broken Arrow Restaurant offers patrons and aprés skiers an outstanding spring skiing deck experience and convenient place to allow everyone in the party to meet after a day on the mountain.

Arrowhead has one of the most prolific “uphill” touring communities in the Vail Valley. Most nights, after the lifts stop turning and locals get off work, uphill skiers, snowboarders and snowshoers headlamps dot the slopes as these brave souls seek one of the Valley’s best cardiovascular workouts.

For a fine dining experience, few Valley restaurants top Vista at Arrowhead for both ambience and culinary excellence.

Maximizing Wealth Transfer Opportunities In Luxury Real Estate

Andie Ohde | May 5, 2024

In the realm of family wealth management and generational transfers, the current landscape presents a unique opportunity for those seeking to optimize the transfer of controversial family real estate assets. As a trusted advisor in real estate, it is crucial to explore innovative strategies which go beyond the conventional approaches to preserve these assets for the next generation.

We are currently witnessing the largest transfer of generational wealth in the history of our world, prompting High Net Worth Individuals (HNWIs) and families to seek ways to preserve and enhance their family legacies. Particularly with what can be highly charged emotional assets such as legacy homes in coveted locations, the question arises: Is it time to monetize?

Money managers are increasingly focusing on strategies to elevate the value of real estate assets, especially in luxury destinations where generational homes may be perceived as "dated." In locales like the Vail Valley, the demand for remodeled and newly constructed properties is in higher demand than “tired” properties, driven partly by escalating building costs.

For homeowners contemplating their next move, there exists a compelling option to not only enhance the value of their property but also monetize it effectively. By partnering with a reputable design and construction team

and leveraging the services of a premier experience rental company like Cuvée, homeowners can transform their residences into sought-after assets with increased market value.

As a strategic partner with Cuvée, I am excited to connect with like-minded homeowners who are interested in joining their exclusive managed collection in top-tier destinations such as Vail, Aspen, Telluride, Sun Valley, Park City, Hawaii, The Hamptons, St Barts, Los Cabos, Punta Mita, Tuscany, and more. By aligning with Cuvée, homeowners can unlock a host of benefits, providing high yield returns, awardwinning design services, dynamic marketing strategies, exclusive events, and access to Cuvée's curated collection of luxury properties.

Whether you are considering monetizing your current property, investing in a new asset, or embarking on bespoke travel experiences worldwide, I invite you to reach out to me for a personalized introduction to Cuvée's VP of Global Development. You can call me directly at (970) 471-5233 or email aohde@livsothebysrealty.com

Let's seize this moment to elevate wealth management strategies and stewardship to create lasting legacies through innovative real estate solutions. Together, we can navigate the evolving landscape of seamless generational wealth transfer with confidence and foresight.

"Nothing is more important than creating positive experiences that put my clients wants and needs first. I love educating people about current market conditions and helping clients navigate our resort market. Living in the Rocky Mountains for the last two decades has provided a unique set of mountain expertise, while always being able to keep the clients best interests at heart. Getting my start with a prominent new home builder in the beginning of my career, and successfully selling over 500 homes for them, helped spark my passion and love for this industry. That growth has continued pushing me on my journey in real estate, adventuring into a niche mountain market. Today, with roughly selling over 2,000 homes, I not only ensure expertise, but also ensure that the same energy and enthusiasm is poured into every detail of a Grand County purchase or sale."
