THE MANAGER

Good afternoon and a very warm welcome to Foxcotte Park to all our supporters for this afternoon’s game against our visitor’s Millbrook.

Millbrook have had a difficult start to the season, but we know they will provide as stern as test as ever, especially with Dave Herbert in charge, who I welcome to Foxcotte Park along with his staff, their players and everyone else who has travelled.

It goes without saying that we are in really good place having put back to back to back wins together following our defeat to Newport, recording an eleventh win away from home at Downton on Tuesday evening.

I was so pleased with the way we played here against Fleet Spurs a couple of weeks ago in our last home game, when I thought we were excellent, especially in the second half.

We carried that on with a terrific result away at Verwood last Saturday. Although at times we were not at our very best. We showed great resilience to come back twice and then Cooky produced that bit of magic to win us the game with only a few minutes to spare.

Against Downton we came up against a strong side, without a few key players and were forced to play Harry Lawton at centreback. To Harry’s credit, he played exceptionally well and was first to everything the Robins had to throw at us and was one of the best players on the pitch that night.

We have an environment in which players are encouraged to learn and grow, and they will have tough nights. But with ours and your support, they come through to keep helping this club progress and I’m proud of players like Harry and Cam Thatcher.

Give them your full backing again this afternoon, and let’s make it four in a row.

Enjoy the game.
