THE MANAGER

Good evening and a very warm welcome to Foxcotte Park to all our supporters for this evening’s game against our visitor’s Petersfield Town.

I’d like to welcome the Jam Boys management team, their staff, players and all officials and supporters who have made the journey to Andover this evening. Petersfield are a club, who have struggled over the past few seasons since their relegation from the Southern League down through the Wessex Premier League to the League One. This season they have shown what they are capable of and come into this game on the back of a four-game winning run that includes victories against Ringwood (twice), Fawley and Ash United.

The Rams have always been a tough opposition for us, and I expect nothing different this afternoon. We will need to be at our very best to get a positive result.

We come into the game having continued our impressive unbeaten run in the league and progressed in the FA Vase, with an excellent away performance at Street a couple of weeks ago.

I thought the Vase tie against Street was a good advert for the Wessex League. I’m not being biased when I say my team were magnificent, and so were you in the stands. We were at it from the very beginning and showed great character to come from behind against the run of play and show the attacking prowess we have as we grew stronger in the second half.

The momentum followed us down to Hamworthy Rec again where we were again resilient. Having got into a strong position just before halftime, I was disappointed to concede a penalty on the halftime whistle. A few choice words at halftime had the desired effect. With Locky scoring late on to secure the points and then Cooky completing his hat-trick.

Please give it everything you’ve got from stands. We’ve had plenty to cheer in recent years and we all feed off each other here, which I know we will be doing again tonight as we set about making Foxcotte Park a fortress it usually is.

Enjoy the game.

I’M NOT BEING BIASED WHEN I SAY MY TEAM WERE MAGNIFICENT, AND SO WERE YOU IN THE STANDS. WE WERE AT IT FROM THE VERY BEGINNING.
