Info & Issues
Weight this kind of items before proceeding to the self-checkout kiosk. This gives also more control to people, because they know how much they spend.
“Place the item in the bagging area. No more. People are still going to steal products by not scanning them. Deactivate this system and bring customer satisfaction up.
No more talking. A clever interface should be able to convey all the necessary info without pre-recorder voice help. Also you should be able to solve issues on your own (insert barcode, insert loyalty card number & more)
Ideal Setup & Starting Point
• No weighting system • Fruit&Veg weighted beforehand • Disabled/optional voice instructions • No confusing questions about bags • WINCOR | NIXORDF machine • Ability to insert barcode number
Redesign
Redesign Principles 1. Hierarchy Direction buttons: these are main buttons that take you to another screen or confirm/deny some kind of action. Fast action buttons: these are secondary buttons that let you access functions and then return to the main screen.
2. Different approaches Checkout process: diminish screens essential to the checkout process in order to make it faster. Help section: try to empower user with more autonomous solutions in order to avoid direct assistance.
