Dear Mr./Ms. :
I graduated in Master of Architecture from Politecnico di Milano, attending both Bachelor and Master taught in English.
I always have been interested and fascinated with the world outside Italy, volunteering in Africa, and by the oriental culture and world in general with a particular focus on Japan and China. Attending Politecnico di Milano
I had the chance to explore China, its history, its culture with greater intensity. The friendship cultivated in university with Chinese classmates, the journey made in China in 2016 and 2019, attending a summer school, and the study of the Chinese language at Confucius Institute in Milan certainly contributed to this in-depth study that continues to this day. Due to this passion, I learned how to be productive in an international environment and team.
Before my Master’s degree, I gained expertise in 3D modeling and design during my work in an architecture department specializing in exhibition stands.
Afterwards, I worked in an architecture studio that deals with architectural, urban design, and landscape architecture. I was involved in all the phases of architecture from concept development to construction drawings and site supervision.
Currently, I am working on large-scale architectural projects at HPP Shanghai, including stadiums, TOD, libraries and R&D Campuses. In these projects, I had the chance to integrate AI applications like Stable Diffusion and Midjourney in my works.
I hope to hear back from you regarding my application.
Sincerely
Andrea Cappelletti周才凯

The Daya Bay Comprehensive Cultural and Creative Park is designed to house a library, cultural activities space (serving as both a youth palace and cultural center), and supporting businesses.
The architectural concept revolves around the imagery of floating clouds, manifested in horizontally spreading structures aligned along the north-south axis. The library and cultural center are elevated and staggered to form dynamic ground floor spaces, while the commercial area on the lower floor is arranged to create multiple eastwest corridors. A sky atrium introduces natural light and air into the public space below. The rooftop platforms, combined with roof gardens and surrounding landscapes, offer scenic views.
The facade design consists of inner glass curtain walls and outer curtain wall screens, with the outer skin made of white LED dot matrix and white metal frame, creating a translucent and thin facade effect.

The architectural inspiration draws from Yunnan’s village and terraced fields, embodying a gradual elevation from south to north. Reflecting traditional Yunnan landscapes, it transitions from water to terraces, then villages, and finally mountains. The southern aspect features a water element, with terraces extending upward. The middle section represents village life, while towards the top there are boxes housing functions like coffee, exhibitions, and study areas, symbolizing houses. The forest-like green roof, full of viewing platforms, completes the mountain analogy.
Facade-wise, white composite translucent stone, lighter and more translucent than traditional stone, is used in order to allow for indoor reading spaces.

Entitled “Floating Silk on the Ocean, Shining Pearls of the Bay”, the proposal is to connect the Nansha hub, restructure the existing fishbone-like water network, and create a modern city gateway that embodies local characteristics. HPP focus was on the sport facilities, in particular the stadium : inspired by clouds, sails, and ripples on the sea, the design of the stadium features a three-layer structure, with a roof resembling floating clouds and the shimmering surface of the sea.
Adapting to the local climate, the façade incorporates multiple semi-outdoor platforms for dinning, leisure, and more, creating a multi-dimensional green garden. The seating area faces east, providing excellent views and can complement a torch lighting ceremony, highlighting the close connection between sports and maritime culture.

The urban strategy focus on continuing the natural mountain range pattern of Taizhou, integrating urban mountains and rivers with the pattern of city and forest in order to create a harmonious coexistence between urban development and nature.
The architectural complex emulates the undulating contours of a mountain range, forming an urban forest that cascades towards the river, with higher elevations in the middle and lower edges. When viewed from a distance, infact, these buildings rise and fall like mountain peaks. It conveys the idea of symbiotic harmony with nature and showcases the distinctive charm of Taizhou. This urban forest aim to transports people into a space that feels like being isolated in nature, allowing them to experience the beautiful integration of mountains and water.

The intervention stems from the need to increase municipal availability for the reception of children of the age group 0-2 years. The position of the building volume has been designed to respect the constraint generated by the railway (30 meters) and to allow children and teachers to obtain the maximum usability of the pertinent areas. The new building is spread over a single floor at ground level and has a rectangular plan to optimize internal distribution and construction techniques. A large courtyard to the south is subtracted from the rectangular planimetric shape of the building to open the building to the surrounding garden. The building intends to dialogue with the relevant green areas, considering the educational and educational value of outdoor activities to be fundamental.

The school’s distribution system develops around the central common space which assumes a distributive function, a space dedicated to “movement activities” and a multipurpose room. This space that runs through the school from north to south constitutes a functional and perceptive fulcrum of the plan and it is characterized by the play of light and shadow generated by a system of skylights.

The topic of the project was part of the Workshop “China Design” held by Shanghai Jiao Tong University in the summer of 2019. It was deepened afterward in a Master Thesis Project that focuses on the redevelopment of a block in the center of Shanghai, architecturally redefining an area currently used as a parking lot. The project consists of the design of a multifunctional architectural complex, whose main theme concerns the study of food and its production, trying to define a balance between plant and built spaces. Given the complexity of the reality of Shanghai and the requests to which I have tried to respond, I have arrived at a project in which various functions, actors, and architectural choices coexist, among which a balance has been sought. In this way, the possibility of a sustainable and conscious urban redevelopment was offered, which takes into account the project site and the different and complex relationships that involve it.
