Travertine or marble?
The difference between marble and travertine lies in the origin of each material: marble is a metamorphic rock of calcium carbonate, travertine is a sedimentary rock born from limestone deposits.
Both travertine and marble are elegant and rare natural stones, with color tones that vary according to the area where the material was formed.
Travertine is typically associated with warm, Mediterranean earth tones, ranging from the lightest white or cream to beige, gold, brown and even red.
Each stone has different veins and colours: there are no 2 slabes of marble or travertine that are the same.
