In the long years of my satisfactory collaboration with the International Society for the Asklepiadaceae (IAS) in the production of their magazine Asklepios, I was able to contribute with some simple in-depth articles on some species that had particularly intrigued me, even if a real passion for this kind of plants I had experienced it much earlier, in the late 90s.
In writing this article, I had found the support of a close friend, John Lavranos, with whom I spent a short vacation a year prior to his passing.
