About Me. I’m Andrea and I am designer from Vancouver Canada with a focus on both Industrial and Graphic Design. My passion is designing products that make people happy, either by making their lives easier in some way or simply making them smile. Design should evoke an emotional response in those who come in contact with it, and produce an enjoyable experience for the user. My core belief is that design has the responsibility and the ability to help shape and change the world for the better. I am passionate about looking at things in a new way and helping to break down preconceived notions about products and the people who use them.

PROJECTS MOODI ARRIS NUX INTERNSHIP
Moodi RE-IMAGINING THE LIGHT THERAPY EXPERIENCE
The goal for this project was to design a product that can create a conversation and help remove the stigma around conditions such as SADs and non-seasonal depression. At least for the user themselves. Moodi was created to be a lifestyle product, not just a therapy product. The modern design helps to move away from the very medical look of products currently on the market. The concept for this product was to change the way people approach conditions such as Seasonal Affective Disorder and Depression and the devices that help them.
01. Body made from Canadian Maple Wood
02. Emits full spectrum light to raise serotonin levels
03. Friendly aesthetic
04. Has an LED setting as well as therapy setting for maximum usage
Light therapy devices become part of people’s daily routine, so why shouldn’t it look like it fits into their

Internship PROTOTYPING AND DESIGN FOR DAVID TRUBRIDGE LTD.
During my internship with New Zealand based design company David Trubridge Ltd., we were commissioned to design an original product for Filtzfelt, a company based out of Getzville New York, that offers a range of unique and stylish acoustic dampening products.
01. The Challenge Create an acoustic dampening product that aligns with the David Trubridge aesthetic, has low material waste and is easy to assemble.
02. German-mill 100% wool felt
My final concept for this project is an assembly of infinite identically shaped components, in any colour variation, and able to be mounted directly on a surface or as a free hanging panel, making it incredibly versatile for any size or shaped space.
A5 v.2
In keeping with the David Trubridge mandate, this design flat paced for more economical shipping, as well as the hexagonal shape was chosen not only for its easily continuous pattern but also the shapes can be butted up right next to each other when being cut, minimizing material waste to almost nothing. This design is easy to assemble on site by anyone with no experience needed.

PROJECTS “ Fine china ” k in k s & cur v es
“Fine China” COMMENTARY ON MATERIALS AND VALUE
“Fine China is a direct experimentation of juxtaposition between items we view as disposable and materials we place high value on. In our society today we place different value on objects depending on what their intended purpose is as well as the types of materials used to make them. For this project I wanted to mix up objects and materials and create a series of dinner plates that are made from a high value material like porcelain but have the physical shape of an object we view as disposable, such as a Styrofoam food tray. 01. Porcelain
Kinks & Curves a sensual representation of fertility and desire.
The challenge for this project was create a homunculus creature that featured exaggerated physical attributes that held some symbolic meaning to us. For this piece the idols hips are exaggerated to emulate traditional fertility deities whom to me represents a mother figure and is a symbol of family and rebirth. Her gold mask is meant to be the embodiment of our every changing desire, ones that we often use to change the way the world perceives us. 01. Ceramic
