The Great Dictator (Chaplin's Movie) At the beginning of World War 2, Chaplin was as famous worldwide as Hitler (Germany's Dictator), and Chaplin's main character wore the same moustache as Hitler This coincidence made Chaplin to satirize Hitler and criticise his policies and beliefs in a movie called 'The Great Dictator' In this movie Chaplin tried to pit his celebrity and humour against the dictator’s own celebrity and evil Charlie Chaplin created a fantastic movie and condemned Nazism and Hitler Vs Chaplin used to produce, write and direct his movies He was also a great musician and composer Chaplin composed the music for many of his own movies, despite the fact that he never had proper music training. In 1972, Chaplin actually won an Oscar for the music in Limelight (1952), which he helped compose
“Wethinktoomuchandfeeltoolittle.”
Despite the tough childhood Chaplin devoted his life and his career to make people laugh

I should like to help everyone - if possible - Jew, Gentile - black man - white. We all want to help one another. Human beings are like that. We want to live by each other’s happiness - not by each other’s misery. We don’t want to hate and despise one another. In this world there is room for everyone. And the good earth is rich and can provide for everyone. The way of life can be free and beautiful, but we have lost the way. We have developed speed, but we have shut ourselves in. Machinery that gives abundance has left us in want. Our knowledge has made us cynical. Our cleverness, hard and unkind. We think too much and feel too little. More than machinery we need humanity. More than cleverness we need kindness and gentleness. Without these qualities, life will be violent and all will be lost….
Chaplin suffered from poverty and hardship in his childhood He was sent to a workhouse twice before the age of nine His mother struggled financially and he had to work from 9 years old

As I began to love myself I understood that at any circumstance, I am in the right place at the right time, and everything happens at the exactly right moment So I could be calm Today I call this Self Confidence.
As I began to love myself I refused to go on living in the past and worrying about the future Now, I only live for the moment, where everything is happening Today I live each day, day by day, and I call it Fulfillment
As I began to love myself I freed myself of anything that is no good for my health food, people, things, situations, and everything that drew me down and away from myself

As I began to love myself I stopped craving for a different life, and I could see that everything that surrounded me was inviting me to grow Today I call this Maturity
Poem Charlie Chaplin read on his 70th birthday, written by Kim McMillen
As I began to love myself
We no longer need to fear arguments, confrontations or any kind of problems with ourselves or others Even stars collide, and out of their crashing, new worlds are born Today I know: This is Life!
As I began to love myself I recognized that my mind can disturb me and it can make me sick But as I connected it to my heart, my mind became a valuable ally Today I call this connection Wisdom of the Heart
As I began to love myself I quit stealing my own time, and I stopped designing huge projects for the future Today, I only do what brings me joy and happiness, things I love to do and that make my heart cheer, and I do them in my own way and in my own rhythm Today I call this Simplicity
I found that anguish and emotional suffering are only warning signs that I was living against my own truth Today, I know, this is Authenticity. As I began to love myself I understood how much it can offend somebody if I try to force my desires on this person, even though I knew the time was not right and the person was not ready for it, and even though this person was me Today I call this Respect
At first, I called this attitude a healthy egoism Today I know it is Love of Oneself
As I began to love myself I quit trying to always be right, and ever since I was wrong less of the time Today I discovered that is Modesty

Apartheid was a system of racial segregation where South Africans were required to classify themselves as white, Bantu (all black), colored (those of mixed race), or Asian. Blacks could not marry whites, work in whiteonly jobs, or travel through restricted areas without carrying a passbook. Blacks could not even vote or own property. As a result of this severe system, nine million blacks were stripped of their homes and jobs as they were forced to relocate to designated "homelands"— areas the South African government forced them to move.

Re-enact a Mandela interview
Oprah: Do you fear death?
Nelson Mandela: No Shakespeare put it very well: "Cowards die many times before their deaths; the brave never taste of death but once. Of all the wonders that I yet have heard, it seems to me most strange that men should fear; seeing that death, a necessary end, will come when it will come." When you believe that, you disappear under a cloud of glory Your name lives beyond the grave and that is my approach

Oprah: Maya Angelou says that humility is knowing your place in the world It's understanding that you are not the first person who has ever done anything important

Oprah: At the end of the magazine each month, I write a column called "What I Know for Sure" What do you know for sure?
Oprah: One reason I hold you and your comrades in such high reverence is that you maintained your dignity in the face of oppression. You must be proud of yourself for that.
Nelson Mandela: That is a truism
Tips:
Nelson Mandela: You are very generous, Oprah All I can tell you is that if I am the person you say I am, I was not always that man
The following is from an interview that Mandela gave to Oprah Winfrey for the "O magazine" in 2001. In this interview you can see that Mandela was an exceptional leader.
1.Focus on the words and pronounce them correctly. 2.Focus on the meaning and use the right tone. 3.Try to be as natural as possible. Your challenge is to read the interview carefully and re-enact it. Pretend that you are Mandela or Oprah Winfrey, find a friend to play one of the two characters. Pay attention to their words (are full wisdom). You can also record the interview to hear it later and see if you re-enact it well. Repeat the interview as many times as needed in order to produce a perfect re-enactment. (apastevent)
Nelson Mandela: I know that my wife will always support me. And I know that, throughout the world, there are good men and women concerned with the greatest challenges facing society today poverty, illiteracy, and disease

Nelson Mandela: If you are humble, you are no threat to anybody. Some behave in a way that dominates others. That's a mistake. If you want the cooperation of humans around you, you must make them feel they are important and you do that by being genuine and humble You know that other people have qualities that may be better than your own Let them express them
Oprah: You once told me that humility is one of the greatest qualities a leader can have Did you come out of prison a more humble man?
