Andreas Azzopardi Most of my work is based on conversation, storytelling and interaction as I believe they are three of the most powerful tools we have as creatives. It is also very important that everything I create works on an aesthetic level and a functional level, combining the two together can create magical work.The only way to stand out is to create good work, I always do my utmost to create work that is unique, genuine and most importantly built around a story. Going forward I would like to build a strong relationship with fellow creatives within the industry and collaborate as much as possible. Through this we can all share what we know and learn from each other. If you’re interested in collaboration or need some work done for your own brand let’s grab a coffee sometime and talk romantically about typography, branding, social media and all the usual suspects.

The ICA Festival has been something I dreamt about creating since the first day I started attending MCAST Institute for the Creative Arts. The idea was to change the approach of the annual end of year exhibition by turning into an Arts and Design Festival. Together with Alisa Pavia, we developed a proposal that not only focused on aesthetics but also the approach and a three-year strategy. Our end goal was to increase the brand perception and create an event that builds hype and anticipation for years to come.

Festival’s Theme The theme the Festival is ‘It all starts here’ which brings the idea of new beginnings and opportunities. The theme revolves around an all inclusive and interactive experiance. On one level, the audience will experience the wide scope of creative works that the students will be showcasing, demonstrating the variety of departments in the Institute. On another level, each department is going to have an eveningwhereby it will engage in a dialogue with the audience through a number ofexciting and dynamic activities. The richness of the programme will be appealing to all visitors.

The idea of this magazine is all about how different people view the same scene in various ways. While scrolling through Instagram one can easily spot unique accounts that have their personal style, their own perspective. The aim of this editorial piece is to bring these different perspectives together to be able to compare and contrast how people capture the same moment/place in various ways.

The influence of brand attachment in Higher Education was tackled for my dissertation. This paper led to many interesting conclusions, however, since the primary focus was MCAST as part of my final project I decided to create a rebrand, campaign and manifesto for the Malta College for Arts Science and Technology.

Portfolio 2018
Central Bank of Malta decided to collaborate with MCAST to create a logo for their 50th anniversary. A competition was created whereby students submitted an identity that they felt represented best this anniversary. My identity uses the architecture as inspiration as I believe there are plenty of unique characteristics that would translate well into a brand. The winning identity still has to be decided.

This calendar is built around the values and knowledge gathered over the years from my grandfather. It was an open brief where we had to tackle the subject of unsung heroes. My grandfather has worked constantly and unrelentingly all his life to ensure that the people around him were happy. He did this without fanfare and always stayed very humble. The calendar revolves around the years he had spent working in Greece away from his family. My grandfather is a chef and I remember working with him in the kitchen when I was younger where he would occasionally give me little life tips that I wrote down. Eventually I turned the best six tips he gave me into the 1970 Calendar.
