LIBRARY IN HELSINKI
SENTINEL The project Sentinel is my master thesis and takes basis in an open competition about a new central library in the heart of Helsinki. The concept behind the building takes a stand with the traditional library and creates opportunity for not only going on adventures in the books, but on the road to them as well. From a very closed exterior to a very open and complex interior, the entrance offers a grand 5 stories atrium. Shooting volumes creates the frame for the atrium, where different creative environments appears and gives space for interaction between peers. Variating and twisting passages between the volumes creates a form of mini society - a city in a city where the life of the library plays out in niches and pockets and fades into large squares. sentinel | 05

During my internship at Friis & Moltke I was associated with the competition team, where I amongst other things was part of this project. My primary tasks were to create the presentation material through movies, models, drawings and concept diagrams. The school is build around a cluster system, where the kindergarten, elementary school and youth clubs are gathered in one large coherent learning environment. The small kids are shielded in its separate clusters and can take up new challenges when ready. It creates safe and manageable communities. Furthermore can the kids grow with the building, starting from the ground floor and move upwards as they grow older.

HABITABLE BRIDGE
LIVING BRIDGE Living Bridge is a project from my studies at Architecture & Design during my 7th semester. The project is about a pedestrian bridge over the Limfjord, which gives a new connection between Aalborg and Nørresundby. A folding, triangular structure gives form to supporting and habitable elements and gives coherence to its 600 meter stretch. Three large folds creates the frame for its habitable functions; a restaurant, hotel and spa. The size of the fold indicates the pace and liveliness of the function and surrounding area.
