PORTFOLIO PROJECT ONE

hey sexy



PROJECT DESCRIPTION This project is entitled “Hey Sexy” and it is the re-issue of the album with the same name produced back in 2005 by Colombian electronic band De Lux Club. Nowadays the band does not longer exist.

The design problem of this project was to make an original re-issue of the band’s debut album, by giving it extra material, but without losing the main aesthetics and freshness of the original version.

The design solution has been accomplished throughout various elements. The CD box is now inside an envelope or package, there are six stickers inside and the content of the CD has been enhanced with two original videos and an interview with the band.


CD PACKAGE


This is the package that covers the CD box and gives a “deluxe version� look to it.



CD BOX


The concept used for the CD box and booklet was to maintain the same typography, images and color values.





STICKERS


These stickers are part of the extra material of the album, which tend to make the customer’s experience more fun.




FLYER


The flyer is something very important when a music album is out. The idea here, was to make it visually attractive.





PORTFOLIO PROJECT TWO

sloppy bobby



PROJECT DESCRIPTION This project is called “Sloppy Bobby” and the main purpose here was to create a fictitious t-shirt brand for young people, that sells its products online, on a website and via Facebook Fanpages.

The design problem of this project, was to create a new clothing brand, by selling t-shirts for young people with funny and original designs. The brand doesn´t have a physical store, so it is very important to emphasize all the online advertising.

To solve the design problem, various elements were taken into consideration. The designs made are funny but also original, and are only thought for young people. The website and Facebook Fanpage are fun and easy to use. The copy of the brand is: “Sloppy t-shirts for sloppy people!”.


FANPAGE


This Fanpage was created to showcase all the characteristics of the products, so more people can get to know the brand.



T-SHIRTS


The t-shirts shall be worn by both men and women and all of them have funny themed designs.





WEBSITE


The website was designed based on two main concepts: fun and color. The predominant tones are blue and white.




DESIGNS


All of the designs used on the t-shirts are somehow funny, whether they are cartoons or not.





PORTFOLIO PROJECT THREE

PROJECT DESCRIPTION This project is entitled “Cerveza Rola” and it is a fictitious beer brand, developed together by fellow students Nicolás Ríos and Sebastián Sánchez for the subject “Piezas promocionales” two periods ago.

The design problem of this project was to develop two more pieces, besides from the digital magazine and the YouTube commercial, that shall enhance and give more credibility to the brand that has been already created.

The two additional pieces that helped to accomplish the design solution, are a website and a physical product (a labeled beer bottle in this case). All four pieces share the same brand and aesthetics characteristics.


YOUTUBE COMMERCIAL


The YouTube commercial’s main purpose, was to depict a traditional character from Bogotá, called “rolo”.



BEER BOTTLE


The beer bottle was created , because it is the main product of the brand. The label design is simple, but elegant .





DIGITAL MAGAZINE


The digital magazine was uploaded to issuu.com, to make the visual and interactive experience more effective.

La elaboración de cerveza es la producción de una bebida alcohólica así como un combustible alcohólico mediante fermentación. El proceso se divide en grandes rasgos en dos procesos principales: el primero corresponde a la conversión del almidón de un cereal a los azúcares (maltosa) y la posterior fermentación de los azúcares para obtener la cerveza. Este método, aunque tiene como principal objetivo la producción de cerveza, es muy similar al empleado en la elaboración de bebidas tales como el sake, la hidromiel y el vino.

The website’s interface reflects two concepts: elegance and tradition, which are also the values of the brand.

PORTFOLIO PROJECT FOUR

i heart ny



PROJECT DESCRIPTION This project is called “I Heart NY: Classic Movies” and it is a fictitious classic films collection, based or centered on the world’s most agitated city, New York.

The design problem of this project was to create a classic movies collection, including three movies that occur in New York City, by directors Woody Allen, Martin Scorsese and Francis Ford Coppola.

Four different pieces were created to solve the design problem. A poster, a wallpaper, a DVD case and a promotional brochure. The main objective of these pieces is to promote and helo distribute the three films.


MOVIE POSTER


The movie poster was designed to promote one of the three movies from the collection, “Taxi Driver�.



DVD CASE


In terms of design, this DVD cover is unique, but it doesn’t withdraw from the general aesthetics of the collection.





WALLPAPER


This is a wallpaper for the movie “Annie Hall� and it is a promotional piece, that could be included inside the collection.




BROCHURE


The brochure was intentionally divided in three parts, each one showing one of the tree films.





PORTFOLIO PROJECT FIVE

poetas latinos



PROJECT DESCRIPTION This project is called “Poetas latinos” and it is a fictitious book collection, which was developed three periods ago for the subject “Diseño de Medios Editoriales”. It consists of three poetry books, all of them written by latin authors.

The design problem here was to make three aditional pieces to the book that already existed. Such pieces had to be directly related with the editorial design previously proposed with the book and maintain the same visual characteristics.

The design problem was solved by three print pieces: a promotional poster, a page divider and a postcard. In this case, the main purpose of the project was to join illustration with collage, finally resulting into a mixture of elegance and sensitivity.

The poster is intended to promote the complete collection in bookstores or any other kind of store.



BOOK


The book was made three periods ago. It has 52 pages and no illustrations on the inside.





POSTCARD


This postcard includes a detail of the book “Veinte poemas de amor y una canción desesperada”.




PAGE DIVIDER


The page divider has got two sides, showing the book cover for “El amor, las mujeres y la vida�.





PORTFOLIO PROJECT SIX

PROJECT DESCRIPTION This project is entitled “Entre vagones” and it was developed during the last period for a subject called “Diseño de Identidad Visual”. It was the first branding and corporate identity assignment of the period.

The design problem here was to generate a new piece and fix the other three. The assignment of the original project was to invent a new logo for the “Muestra de Portafolios, Reels y Cortometrajes” of the last period, 2012.

The three existing pieces were fixed and the fourth and new piece helped to complete the project, giving a unified and more organized look to it. Some fonts were also changes, in order to keep this unity.


CLASSROOM IDENTIFIER


This identifier was designed to show a specific group number to a specific classroom.



POSTCARD


The postcard shows the predominant elements of the project, which are the train and the logo.





WALLPAPER


This wallpaper is the piece with less elements. Nevertheless, it is one of the most visually attractive.
