On 14th March 1958, Grace Kelly had a baby boy. It was a great cause for celebration because the former film star became Princess Grace when she married Prince Rainier of Monaco. The baby was heir to the throne. They must have been thrilled to have a son. They already had a daughter, Princess Caroline. The new baby was given the names Albert Alexandre Louis Pierre! I thought Grace Kelly was lovely when she starred in the film High Society. She looked like a princess - she was always so elegant.

Do you like steamed puddings? When the girls were young and Stan was at work, they all used to be really hungry on cold winter days. I used to cook things that were hot and filling. “Good ribsticking food” my Stan used to call it. One of our favourites was a Lemon Pudding that had a whole lemon buried in the suet sponge. It was steamed until the lemon was cooked soft and all the juice soaked into the sponge. I used to make a nice lemon sauce to go with it and lots of custard. It was delicious.
