Secure Your Valuables The last thing you want to have happened is for you to get your money or important documents stolen because you didn’t take the proper precautions. This is why you should secure your valuables at all time. Before you leave your hotel room for the day, you should lock items of value to you in the safe. While you are walking around, you should keep your money and identification in a fanny pack or in your front pocket. This will keep thieves from easily being able to grab these items while you are walking around.
Be Observant At All Times A lot of tourists make the mistake of not paying attention to what’s going on around them. This can make them an easy target. You can keep this from happening by being observant at all times. Don’t constantly be on your phone. If you have to use it to find something, you should make it a point to look up often to make sure no one is watching you. As a solo traveler, you do need to be even more cautious than you would be if you were traveling with a group.
