Whilst working and training with KPMG throughout the programme, you will study with Durham University Business School during years 1-4. The BSc Accounting programme is designed to help you develop an in-depth understanding of the theory and practice of accounting, whilst gaining the practical tools and concepts to apply theory to the workplace. Your fifth and final year will be spent working towards achieving your professional qualification, full Chartered Accountant Status, through the ICAEW. This is an ideal programme to choose if you’re looking to pursue a career in accountancy, finance and business.

During years 1-3 you will study the core modules at Durham University Business School’s Queen’s Campus. Modules are delivered in intensive summer term blocks during July and September (you will study from August to September in year 1). The remainder of your time in each year will be spent working at a KPMG office.
Your final year of the Audit School and College Leavers programme is spent working at KPMG whilst also training for your professional qualification, full Chartered Accountant status, through the ICAEW.

During your fourth year you will study full-time at the Business School (9 months from October to June), completing a dissertation, two further compulsory modules and two optional modules. LIVE Queen’s Campus is a purpose-built community on the waterfront at Stockton-on-Tees. Our students are a close-knit community, with excellent sporting facilities on campus at our multi-million pound sports centre and floodlit Astroturf pitch. The Campus also has a number of cafes and restaurants, with an events bar overlooking the River Tees and Infinity Bridge. Middlesbrough, only 10 minutes by taxi has nightlife that attracts world-famous DJs, as well as bands and live acts from across the world. To experience the classic British seaside the coastal town of Saltburn is a drive away. Want trendy cafes and designer shops? The beautiful market town of Yarm is just 5 miles away. For connections to Durham, there is a university bus service and trains running from nearby Thornaby station which has direct links to Newcastle, York, Manchester Airport as well as connections to East Coast services via the mainline at Darlington. MONTHLY INFORMATION SESSIONS An informal opportunity to find out more about our innovative BSc Accounting Programme, developed and delivered in collaboration with KPMG and the ICAEW. Dr Amir Michael, Academic Course Director, will introduce the programme and explain how it differs from our full time programmes. The session will end with a visit to Stephenson College where a member of the Junior Common Room (JCR) will give you a tour of the college and answer any questions you have about college life.
