VICTORIA STREET BICYCLE STATION IS AN INNER-CITY FACILITY WHERE ONE CAN STORE AND CHARGE THEIR ELECTRIC OR NON-ELECTRIC BICYCLE, MAKE USE OF PRIVATE RESTROOMS AND SHOWERS, AND RETREAT TO A ROOFTOP GARDEN, FIVE METRES ABOVE BUSY CENTRAL WELLINGTON
THE STATION IS BUILT ON SUSTAINABLE PRINCIPLES, CONTRUCTED USING ENVIRONMENTALLY-CONSCIOUS MATERIALS, AND EMPLOYS THE USE OF GREEN TECHNIQUES, SUCH AS SOLAR POWER, ALL WHILE VISIBLY PROMOTING THE USE OF ONE PARTICULARLY ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY MODE OF TRANSPORT: THE ELECTRIC BICYLE.

SOLAR PANELS ON ROOF, SUNLIGHT TRANSFORMED INTO ELECTRICITY AND MOVED DOWN THE MAIN COLUMN FOR USE IN E-BIKE CHARGERS, LIGHTS AND FACILITIES
FOLIAGE - GRASS AND TREES - REINTRODUCE THE ELEMENT OF NATURE TO THE DESIGN, PAYING HOMAGE TO THE PREVIOUS USE OF THE SITE AS A PARK WITH LOTS OF GREENERY, IN THE FORM OF LIVING WALLS, GRASSED AREAS, SHRUBBERY/TREES.
SOLAR PANELS SIT ATOP THE UPPER ROOF. THEY PROVIDE ALL THE ELECTRICITY USED IN THE STATION - FOR CHARGING THE E-BIKES, BATHROOMS, LIGHTS, AND COULD POTENTIALLY FEED BACK INTO THE GRID. WATER COLLECTION TANKS SIT BELOW THE SECOND PLATFORM AND STORE COLLECTED RAINWATER FOR USE IN THE BATHROOMS.
