23, 24 Westcliff Court, Marino, SA, 5049 DESCRIBTION: The block on this site is located near thebeach at an average level of 30 to 50 meters above sea level. block number 24 is on the north side where the natural ground is fallen toward the creek. on the west side an existing resedential premises on Westcliff Court there is an entry from the Westcliff Court to this block 24 that leads to block number 23. 2 resedential premises are located on the boundary of both blocks 23 and 24. Block 23 is on the south side located at the Cove road. The space of the block is large enough to accomadate a community development. The fall of the block is not as steep as the fall of block 24. Both blocks are facing the beach.

I have determined not to Design the 2 floors above the street level. I thought of more feasible solution to have the building situated at step level to avoid approximately the possible construction of 7 meter high retaining wall. Therefore I have decided to place the lower and upper floor below the street level. The prospective shows living areas, entertainment, sport, meeting rooms and lounge areas including all the required facilities and services. I have also chosen to have terraces and swimming pool surrounded by land spacing topped up with BBQ area. The car parking is located below the building so that it would be easier to park and have more space with an entrance that is lead by a pathway declining on site.

MATERIALS The first photo represent stage 2 proposal of the building however I have taken the advice of changing the design proposal into consideration. I, therefore in the last 3 days came up with the amendments of the design keeping in mind the footprint of the building remains the same hoping to suit the satisfactory level. The reason for keeping the same footprint of the building is due to the lack of enough time to present an entire new proposal

Marino accommodation building is proposed to attract several types of societies ranges from business local business people, business people from abroad, local and non local tourism, students, rotary clubs, varieties of organizations, marketing, and small conferences. Due to the block position and location the proposal of such building is convenient to the Marino area community. This building is capable and convenient to serve business meetings as well as education, technical supports, organizations, advertisements, and others. Stage 2 of the accommodation building (level 0) introduced the addition of a main roof cover made half glass and half concrete merged into each other. The community requirements allow me to introduce the surrounding landscape to (level -1) where I added a water pond with bushes and small trees. (Level -2) is now filled with green areas where most of them are surrounded by glass and will reach the roof with openings that split between the inside and outside areas. All walls are designed with unequal holes to let the sun enter the building in a special way. In addition, the remaining of the block, I have designed varieties of suspended wooden passages and timber decks connected with stairs and ramps and easy access to the building to both (level -2) and (car park) with some covered area as shown on the site plan. On top of that I was able to manage to provide an easy access road with average slopes going under the decks and ramps reaching the car park. Parts of the decks are cantilevered structure to enjoy the view of the valley.

The roof of the building consists of concrete partially of concrete structure and tough glass cladding supported on supper steel structure. The shape of the concrete and glass are integrated into each other showing a state of the art of the modern architect. The shape of the roof of various slopes allow the building to be created voids through the building floors leading to the internal landscaping creating what I believe a new beautiful environment. The roof is water proof and sealed except runoff water entering the void to the inner landscape will be diverted outside the building with storm-water drainage system.

All decks and stairs will be constructed of timber framing structure and usually suspended on round concrete columns forming cantilevers above both drive ways and the valley. Some of the deck areas are covered with timber framing gazebos where other areas are covered with a combination of concrete and steal structure.
