A soldier draws his sword to kill her, and she dies knowing that “in her end lay the end of everything.�E 500


During the last battle, Mordred lunged at King Arthur who struck a blow with Excalibur through Mordred’s heart. With one last breath, Mordred brought his sword down, smashing Arthur’s helmet to his head. It was a mortal wound because Arthur no longer had the invincibility that this had provided because Morgan le Fay had thrown this into the river. F 100


After battles, this animal was known to feed on the corpses. It became linked with war and Arthur is said to have taken the form of this same animal after he was wounded. Edgar Allan Poe used this ominous bird in his writing, too. F 200
