Mum In Doha Explores Newborn Baby Photography It’s hard seeing our babies turn into toddlers, and Carmen believes most mums can relate to that feeling. But being able to capture our children’s little features and saving them in that moment for everyone to look back on in years to come is what gives Carmen her focus.

The arrival of a new infant in the family is one of life’s precious moments that deserves a professional touch

s you read this piece, I could well be holding our newborn baby in my arms or I could still be patiently waiting for his arrival! Either way, it’s been an exciting time in our household. But along with all the planning, preparation, and purchases, something that has been very important to us is photography. Capturing special moments in life is not only incredibly important, but it can be rather hard to do if you’re not quite skilled enough. And let’s be honest, with a newborn in your home I’m sure patience isn’t something you can find in ample quantity. Roll out the professional baby photographer! It’s not a new concept but it is certainly surging in popularity. In fact, the trailblazer of the baby flower pot photos, Anne Geddes, was recently in town snapping premature babies at the Women’s Hospital.

So when it comes to capturing the perfect image of your perfect baby, who can we find locally? Thankfully Doha is home to these creative capturers:

Little Stars Danielle has photographed hundreds of babies from around the world in both the United Arab Emirates & Qatar. She started out by gathering her inspiration from her own children, whose photos she wanted to send to her family overseas. Her creativity comes from putting a variety of ideas together and sourcing quirky new props she can place a baby inside of to make for the most adorable of photos. Danielle particularly loves vintage items for both girls and boys and likes to use flowers around little girls. She may have her own style but loves to hear ideas from her clients to make their own portraits personal, as this is their story and their lasting memories she is capturing.

With a Little Grace Carmen named her business after her influence, her daughter. Carmen is so in love with what she does and feels it’s something phenomenal to be allowed into people’s lives to capture images of their pride and joy.

All of her newborn sessions are done at her clients’ homes, mostly because she believes that with many of her clients being expats, a lot of these babies will be traveling the world and moving on one day, so wouldn’t it be nice for them to look back on where they spent their first few days, months, and years.

Juliette Sawyer Photography With over 20 years’ experience including work in London with major national magazines and newspapers, Juliette has now transitioned from shooting catwalk models to beautiful babies. She laughs that although they can be very difficult to photograph at times, it is oh-so-worth-it when you get the shot! Her favourite style is to place newborns in baskets at her studio at The Pearl but she also enjoys photographing families outdoors at natural locations. So if you are looking to capture those magical moments with your newborn baby, toddler, or child, hopefully these talented local photographers can help! Until next time, capture memories that last a lifetime! n
