Inspired by the creative people in our lives, in July 2009, we asked 5 extremely talented artists of various disciplines to participate in an image-based project. Taking a musician, a DJ, a writer, an illustrator and a creator, we wanted to explore the world that they live in and the things that make them tick. We provided each of our five contributors with a disposable camera, a small journal and one simple guidline: to chronicle moments of inspiration and have fun. By using disposable cameras we wanted to encourage the artists to focus on the moment itself and not on creating a perfect image. The intention was to contrast a single instant captured on unedited film, with the time intensive process that each individual artist commits to their craft. Our goal with this project was twofold. First, to uncover what provokes the creative mind of different indivduals. Second, to take the split second of inspiration that captures the eye of one and extend it into a source of creative insight for others. In 2008, after putting time in with several other groups, Sam Kearny joined up with the Brooklyn, New York based band Alberta Cross. He hasn’t looked back since. An extraordinarily talented musician, Sam’s ability to deliver a musical escape from reality is evidence of his dedication, uncomprimising vision, and creative integrity.

Born in San Francisco, artist , illustrator and creator Eric Lister now lives in Brooklyn, New York. A true free spirit, Eric will be the first to admit that his work is incredibly awesome. Also, he will more than likely tell you how his incredibleness continues to shine through in his massive cardboard mask making abilities. He’s so modest.
