Greendrive Fuel Saving Greendrive is a product with a colour led surface graphic displaying instant instruction on how to drive fuel efficiently, reducing emissions and saving fuel costs.

Greendrive can be mounted to the dashboard, zip-tied to the steering wheel or rear-view mirror.

Fuel and environmental costs are causing a transportation shift towards electrics and hybrids, but fuel savings can also be made by improving driving style. UK: Retail unleaded petrol prices increasing Forecast

Blue = too little power

Coloured lights spread across the product display indicating the current eco-status. They give the driver clear instruction how to use the accelerator pedal. concept development

Greendrive Refinement

The Plant-Cycle is an object that mounts on the dashboard or fixes to the steering wheel / rear-view mirror Final Concept: Leaf Led surface display instructs the driver to add more or less power via a colour and shape changing leaf graphic

Development of a Greendrive brand logo

Energy is too low, only the young sprout is visible.

Perfectly formed & vibrant green.

Bad fuel economy leads to the leaf dying.

More power needed for leaf to grow.

Too much power, leaf wilts and turns brown.

Good economy will reverse the process.

E-quine, trike for women PROBLEM A female motorcycle option in the male dominated market is limited to the bottom of the range, least powerful ‘female suitable’ model. The e-quine is designed to be an elegant and desirable transportation proposition for women by taking influence from equestrianism. The e-quine promotes correct posture and has delicate rein-like steering. The trike format creates a stable base for someone unfamiliar to motorcycles, the step-through access allows easy mounting and the electric powertrain is simple to use and economical.

Smith Electric Vehicles Brief: Internship project to investigate & utilize battery technology innovation to develop a concept for Smith’s Edison commercial van.

Problems: The current batteries are not suited to extreme climates. The battery casings are crude, visually uninspiring & dangerous to install. Ford have strict policies in the use of their Transit donor platform with regards to retaining Fords branding features. This makes the Edison anonymous as a pioneering electric commercial van from Smith Electric Vehicles.

Recess: prevents wear or damage from entry to the vehicle & obstruction to driver/passenger doors.

Display 1: external display shows battery power. reduces range anxiety by advertising potential vehicle range when approaching vehicle & to observers. Brand Logo: A clear focal point on the vehicle bringing attention to the brand & its advanced technology. Sidebar: non-powered, reflects sun/street light to produce an electric glow

Display 2: shows remaining time until battery change needed. reduces range anxiety to observers. Display 3: Lights up as a warning to alert anyone approaching the vehicle that a high voltage component could be compromised.

Reflected glow: draws attention to DNA & the vehicles electric power-train.

Hancock Pub Branding

Academic year 2011-2012 To make an impact in our first independent year the design theme is a tongue in cheek play on the ‘I love New York’ icon utilising our pub sign mascot. This proved hugely successful with the students selling double the initially allocated discount cards and promotional t-shirts.

Academic year 2012-2013 In the Olympic year the branding theme was Team Hancock based on Team GB but with our colours and mascot working carefully to avoid copyright infringement.

Academic year 2013-2014 For this year I evolved the idea of Team Hancock by creating a Team Hancock crest combined with a team devised slogan. Mitchells & Butlers

MTB hire buggy PROBLEM To design a spiritual successor to the dune buggy exploiting a current donor platform.

This project is a live collaboration with Concept Group International. My buggy is based on the buoyant commuter cycle hire market in cities and expanding this to the mountain bike leisure users of trail centers. You can head to the hire

center, rent the bike and riding kit, equip the buggy and go ride.

In my life I have had the opportunity to develop my obsession for design into a career that I love. What drives me is the idea that out in the world are people whose lives will have been enriched by enjoying the products I have helped create. My approach is to be meticulous in the detail of my design process, taking a problem right back to its root cause to observe where insights can be found throughout the users experience. This depth creates complete solutions that delight beyond pure aesthetics. I value sketching and concept iteration as one of my talents. This process explores and refines an idea, together revealing an accomplished product with a compelling product story. I am a passionate and highly motivated product designer with a track record of designing and developing products from concept through to production. I have great experience in team management and colleague collaboration within high pressure and professional working environments, which have resulted in both design and management awards. I have also won awards for solo design projects where dedication and a broad skill-set were a necessity along with a design project feature in a recent monthly magazine publication. Outside of design I de-stress and obsess over cycling, cycle technology and maintenance. I participate in most disciplines, Mountain Biking, Road Cycling, Trials and love the combination of technicality and beauty, the purity of engineless propulsion combined with epic scenery. I am currently seeking employment at a company where I can demonstrate and progress my design talent.
