about My name is Andrew Schiffer. I began my career as an architect, specalizing in computational or generative design. I love making the complex designs, inspired by geometry and nature, and figuring out how to build them in the real world. Later, worked in footwear design, where I gained a deep appreication for the power of the human body and all it’s complexities. I began designing jewelry because it seemed to exist in a liminal space, full of meaning and possibility, between body and object. Through my jewelry design, I seek to question our shared cultural conceptions about what makes an object precious and understand how we assign value -emotional, monetary, or otherwise- to the objects around us.

wires crossed
sometimes, wires get crossed. these moments, when we make a simple mistake, swapping one thing for another, are often creative flourishes in disguise. happy accidents; recombinations of similar elements in new ways, can lead to discoveries we might not have otherwise made. this collection began from a moment of wires getting crossed, but lead to an edgy exploration of formal expression.
