Our readers and followers in the Northern Hemisphere are by now really looking forward to the warmer summer months with longer daylight, and some in the Southern Hemisphere are eagerly awaiting the cooler winter months as they seem not to enjoy the warm weather —admittedly I am not one of them. Welcome to the March Issue Whatever you plan on doing in the month ahead I do hope that it will be a month filled with wonder and beauty for you. Thank you too for the letters from readers who have given praise and critic (thankfully positive) it is always most welcome.

So often we seem to wonder through our own mind and it feels like a dark forest in which we are lost, something akin to the fable of Hansel and Gretel. And we wish there was someone who is able to take our hand and lead us out. Unfortunately these are lessons we need to learn and deal with ourselves. Our own insecurities and fears which we have been programmed with since our birth. Do we come out stronger? Well let us hope so and let us hope we actually learn these lessons well so as not to have to repeat them again and again.

For those of you who have read the blog post I did regarding the death of my 4 legged child you will know that I too walked through a very dark forest and I too had to face a fear and experience it first hand to understand. I feared that any of my animals would be poisoned and yes that is exactly what happened. I faced the fear of fears—there was nothing I could do to change the outcome and had to understand and learn from this experience. So this amazing photograph sent in by the talented Roger Casteleyn was in my mind symbolic of walking through the darkest forest of life.

The Grim Reaper came for me last night, and I beat him off with a vacuum cleaner. Talk about Dyson with death. ____________________________ A mate of mine recently admitted to being addicted to brake fluid. When I quizzed him on it he reckoned he could stop any time.... ____________________________ I went to the cemetery yesterday to lay some flowers on a grave. As I was standing there I noticed 4 grave diggers walking about with a coffin, 3 hours later and they're still walking about with it. I thought to myself, they've lost the plot!! ____________________________ My daughter asked me for a pet spider for her birthday, so I went to our local pet shop and they were ÂŁ70!!! Blow this, I thought , I can get one cheaper off the web.. ____________________________ I was at an ATM yesterday when a little old lady asked if I could check her balance, so I pushed her over. ____________________________ I start a new job in Seoul next week. I was driving this morning when I saw an RAC van parked up. The driver was sobbing uncontrollably and looked very miserable. I thought to myself that guy's heading for a breakdown.. ____________________________ My neighbour knocked on my door at 2:30am this morning, can you believe that, 2:30am?! Luckily for him I was still up playing my Bagpipes. ____________________________ Paddy says "Mick, I'm thinking of buying a Labrador."Bugger that" says Mick "have you seen how many of their owners go blind?" ____________________________ I saw a poor old lady fall over today on the ice!! At least I presume she was poor - she only had ÂŁ1.20 in her purse. ____________________________ My girlfriend thinks that I'm a stalker. Well, she's not exactly my girlfriend yet. ____________________________ A wife says to her husband you're always pushing me around and talking behind my back. He says what do you expect? You're in a wheelchair.

I was explaining to my wife last night that when you die you get reincarnated but must come back as a different creature. She said I would like to come back as a cow. I said you're obviously not listening. ____________________________ When I was in the pub I heard a couple of men saying that they wouldn't feel safe on an aircraft if they knew the pilot was a woman. What a pair of sexists. He is adamant that there is so much that all people have in common if they were just prepared or able to let go of the various labels and beliefs attached to many things. He is quick to point out though that Spirituality is not a constant. How can it be if it is continuously flowing and moving, and you are continuously growing and expanding in yourself through various lessons learnt. Steve feels that spirituality is the acceptance of whatever is taking place within your life as a lesson that you have gained insight into, to become a more complete and rounded off soul. It is also his opinion that generally people are fearful to look further than their religious upbringing should they not have grown-up in an open-minded environment. The fear that they will be punished for venturing outside the ‘’fold’’ holds many away from experiencing their spiritual paths.

Change always begins as a tiny molecule within and then has a ripple effect outward. Try to find your own connection to the universal energy, let go of your fear and do what is right for you. he Rooster I am in the farmyard.

Sitting here on the tractor I can see very clearly The actions and idiosyncrasies Of all the farmyard animals. As I watch the seeming chaos, It becomes clear to me That, for each creature, There is a pattern of behavior Following definite rules Unspoken, but clearly there.

And as I sit taking this in, It also becomes clear That the interactions between the species Follow very clear guidelines. Each knows his place in the pecking order And relative calm prevails As long as each acts According to the set norm.

I observe too,

Which seems to calm the creatures. And thus habit forms the staple ingredient Of successful farm management. Our Rooster knows many things. You can see from his bearing That he has the self-confidence Of hard won experience. Rooster has a keen intelligence And perspicacity Quite out of proportion To his lowly status of chicken. The loudmouth of the farmyard, He never fails to have his say.

It is hard to respect Rooster But he doesnâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t care Since he has so much self-respect of his own He doesn't need the respect of anyone else. Vociferous by nature,

Rooster wastes no time In letting everyone around him know What he is thinking And shouts the odds From morning til night.

immy Henderson grew up in South Africa in a poor home. He loved the sciences but due to financial constraints within the home, when he left school there were not many options avail for him to go and further his studies in the field he was passionate about. This resulted in him joining the police force and for that time period it was a good choice to make. He went through the training programme and worked in the technical department. He found that the police force provided him with stability and allowed him to build his own confidence which in those years were sorely lacking. It also afforded him the opportunity to further his studies. His interest in the spiritual and metaphysical side began in the 1970’swhen he began by reading books by Lobsang Rampa and others on the subject matter of alternative spirituality. And in 1982 he started studying psychology which he has managed to integrate into the spiritual realm to produce his own brand of metaphysics with a scientific basis. He has had many varying experiences but his aim is not to give information that is based solely on his own experience. Jimmy rightfully states there are many people who are unsure or even sceptical when it comes to the spiritual side of life. He aims to show them how the spiritual and metaphysical add up and come together into the physical world. One such example is: Energy Impressions being transferred. People will see a colour, with this colour a specific image may come to mind. The images seen in the minds eye fit a certain framework and form an impression/concept which one has. Within that is the fact that you will see in your minds eye an image that is ‘’acceptable’’ to you.

It was in 1981 however, where Jimmy joined the Rosicrucian order (AMORC) which offered and still offer graded lessons in spiritual understanding and practices. Jimmy has been initiated into various degrees of this order. A man who has had many, many amazing experiences in the super natural realm. Jimmy also maintains that due to his studies he is very intuitive and under certain circumstances clairvoyant, clairaudient and clairsentient. Saying that through his subconscious mind he is able to interact with various personalities on a higher level of reality. He applies his belief and interest to his daily life. Jimmy has written many books and articles on these subjects which lie close to his heart. He also gives talks to various institutions across the globe and is willing to spread the information to those who are willing to open their minds and to learn. Not only is he an author of many books however or ’’just’’ a speaker on the subject matter of metaphysics he is highly regarded as a spiritual teacher. Having completed his PhD in Psychology he is able to bring much to the table with regards to the human psych and the understanding of the spiritual realm therein. When asked about whether he believes we choose this life path here on earth, Jimmy replied: ’’Yes, we are all part of the unfolding process of Spirit and have the freedom of choice to decide which path of service we follow.’’ Jimmy suggests if you are interested in changing your life and to bring about a deeper meaning for your life and the path you wish to lead, start reading. And then when you are ready, begin with your own inner work in meditation and or other techniques such as visualisation to increase your mindfulness and most importantly to then unlock your latent spiritual faculties. Will it resonate with you enough to change your way of thought? Perhaps not but it will definitely give you a different perception on life which you will be able to carry with you forever.

hen pondering on what to write about this morning, I asked my animals (dogs and parrots) what would be a good subject around animal communication. My one African Grey parrot said, “perception, being open to another way of being”!

Beautiful views and skies from the mountain where we are. I went into a cave, an abundance of unbelievable treasure. Abundant blessings. Gold treasures. See inside of oneself. See sparks emanating. Electric ball. Unbelievable energy. Just wow. The electricity in me is just wild. All over my body. Can move it around me and anywhere I want it. Unbelievably powerful. arch roars in like a lion and goes out like a lamb or vice versa. This old saying from the past describes the weather lore that surrounds March, the first month of spring. In this wonderful month bright yellow daffodils herald the changing season and we embrace Ostara, St. Patrick’s Day, St. David’s Day, the Vernal Equinox and Mothering Sunday among many others.

March is a month which is governed by the element of earth, not only for the obvious reason with the changes in nature but the festivals are themselves very much of earth magic. St. Patrick’s Day brings Leprechaun magic and Ostara brings gifts from the Goddess while Mothering Sunday ensures we honour all our mothers and not just the earth mother.

My dreams and plans are refreshed. I will succeed with passion and zest.

I share with you a story that for many, has become familiar. Whether you are receiving this news for yourself or for a loved one, something changes inside of you. Once you hear these words, there is no turning back. The way you view your world, changes. The way you see yourself, changes. Nothing appears the same again. We step through a door into the unknown; the unknown that tells a different story of the one you had about your mortality ; the unknown that shows you your body in its strength and its vulnerability; the unknown that takes you into your shadow self you thought you would never have to face again. We are never prepared for this moment with the gifts and challenges it brings to us.

As a Miss Fixit personality type, it was my immediate response to jump in and do whatever I could to make it all better. I packed up my life in KZN and went to look after my Mom for the 6 months of her chemotherapy. It was a humbling journey. I learnt more about myself than I thought possible. I learnt more about a woman I called Mom, than I ever expected. There were highs and lows, love and dislike, acceptance and non- acceptance and finally respect. There were times when we honestly did not like one another. To travel a road where both of your lives become an open book, is not an easy place to sit in. Our vulnerabilities, our past pains of expectations and you should have’s, and shouldn’t have, often blocked our rationality and communications. car and journey up to her. My heart would fall into my tummy as my eyes laid onto this tiny, frail little body. How was I going to make it all right again? I would straighten up my shoulders, zip up the tears and say, “Come on Mom, we can do this, together.” I would proceed to make up all my concoctions and feed her like a small child, willing her body to respond. Rest, love and care and topped up with all the best of nature’s choices, she would soon be back to her upbeat self. I would leave her marveling at the strength of the body and the spirit and the will to live every day in its fullness.

There are many people that are recognizing the need to change their life styles. For most, it comes to them when faced with an illness. The most challenging aspect is what do those changes look like and how much are they prepared to change? This may be very frustrating for the people supporting them. As individuals we have our limits, our habits and our crutches. These aspects become highlighted as they are often what support the disease. When we are feeling vulnerable, we turn to our habits to hold us. It is difficult for people to change a life style in normal conditions let alone when required to. What you determine as making a significant change will be different for another. One of the most important lessons I learnt was to listen. Another lesson was to ask questions. “What do you want?” “Will this support you?” You find out that there are times you need to walk away and other times to be still with what is. There are times when their choices are going to make things more difficult for themselves. As painful or as angry as you, the caregiver may get, they need to go through with their Aneis de Vida

choice. I would look at my Mom when her rebellious side stepped in and think to myself, “She is still has her will. Her spark. Her fight.” Don’t let me be the one to take that away from her. Remember, the person is going through so many internal struggles. We can never comprehend what they are going through. There comes a time as care givers where stepping back allows them to work it out for themselves. That is the empowering part of their journey. Dignity is what we can give our loved ones.

Then there are the people that support and care for their loved ones. When my Mom had passed, a stranger came up to me and said, “If there is any advice I may give you, please take care of yourself in the following months to come.” I never heeded her words. As much as I knew that I had done everything possible in taking care of my Mom, there was still this little voice that wondered if I could do more. So I did more. For anyone else that came into my life, I did more. I never seemed to be able to hit the, ‘enough’, button. The beauty of the physical body is that when it has had enough, it has enough and says no more. How we listen to our body, how we interpret the messages, determines our steps. Let us take heed of the people that went before us. They leave us with valuable life lessons that help us to make more informed choices about how we choose to travel this life journey in our physical body.
