The goal of this installation is to spread awareness of the refugee crisis occuring outside of the United States and to encourage empathy among the Syracuse University community.

Samos Refugee Hotspot


Imagine living and sleeping in a tent without any electricity or heating for months, and even years.

Installation located in Syracuse of a tent with a UNHCR tarp brought from the refugee camp in Samos.


The people of the Syracuse community were encouraged to sit inside the installation and to imagine what it would be like to live and sleep in the tent, without electricity or heating in a cold climate.
