THE VOICE OF ALL WOMEN As a woman myself, I have always been struggling with my body image, especially when I pursued my modeling career at the age of 14. I started to be more aware about my body and my insecurities. Back in the days not a lot of girls in the industry looked like me. I would always be labeled as the “bigger Asian girl”. "I thought I was ugly and fat just because I didn’t look like Candice Swanepoel or Miranda Kerr."
My agency told me I had to lose weight, and most of the time I didn’t fit in the sample sizes. Actually, I wasn’t fat or big at all, I just believed that because of the f*cked up standards of the modeling industry. I thought I was ugly and fat just because I didn’t look like Candice Swanepoel or Miranda Kerr. These insecurities left me an eating disorder and a lot of other mental health issues. This is why it is really important that brands like Savage x Fenty exist, so all girls growing up know that it’s okay to look different. All women are beautiful, no matter what size, sexuality, race, height, body type and ethnicity.

MAMA CAX REST IN PEACE
Meet Cacsmy Brutus, better known as Mama Cax. The amputee model, fashion blogger and activist showed us that even with disabilities you can look beautiful in lingerie. At 14, Cax was diagnosed with bone and lung cancer, and underwent an unsuccessful hip replacement surgery, resulting in the amputation of her right leg 16.
A vocal advocate for inclusivity in fashion, self-love and self-confidence, Mama Cax broke out in the modeling world with a Wet ’n’ Wild campaign in 2017. Cax passed away at 30. According to the family’s Instagram post, she fought her illness for a week in the hospital with “the same grit” with which she fought cancer, but died on 16 December 2019. 11
