Tutorial: How to send messages in Moodle

Step 1: To send a message via Moodle log into your Moodle account. Once logged in you will notice the “Navigation” panel on the left of the page. Click onto “My profile” followed by “Messages”.

Step 2: You will then be taken to the Messages page, this is the place where the messages you receive are stored. In the search bar enter the name of person you wish to contact.


Produced by the E-learning Team Step 3: Depending on how you enter the name, a list of users with that name should appear. Once you have found the user you wish to message click on their name. Note: If you type in only the first name a list of people sharing that name will been shown (see image). To save time, enter the full name of the user, if known.

Step 4: Now, simply enter your message in the text box and press “Send message� and your message will be sent to the other user.
