From Your LTG

H Hello SHARKS! Happy shark week! E It’s our time to shine! L I hope everyone’s ready for a summer of fun and service! Angela here and I got loads to say! L Tacoma Rally is just around the corner! So far, 34 is about 1/3 of the O estimated attendance! That’s fantastic! I know we can reach our goal of 50 attendees! I can’t wait to see everyone again and I can’t wait to hear your spirit! Last year Division 34 proudly took the spirit stick home! Let’s show them our spirit! Even though it seems like summer just started, school’s starting in less then two months! I hope everyone’s ready to show your school who’s the club with the love of service! Lots of other information in this edition, I hope to see you all soon! In Caring and Service,

Angela Shin

• 1 baby dies every 11 minutes from tetanus • 24 Countries remain at risk for MNT • A series of 3 doses of tetanus vaccine = immunity from tetanus • Woman + vaccine = protected baby • US$1.80 protects 1 woman and her future babies

MNT is a disease that affects newborn babies and their mother, and is extremely painful, and even fatal.

12

PNW KEY CLUB “ELEMONATE CHALLENGE”

Similar to the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, the PNW District Board has challenged the PNW to eat a ¼ of a lemon and donate $1.80 to help fight MNT.

MEMBER OF THE MONTH

Kaylin Don

Member at Mount T. Not only is she an active member in her club, participating in events such as Relay for Life, she’s also very enthusiastic about service! One of the only members at Mount T. who’s attended all of their service projects and always asking what more she can do! Thank you Kaylin for being an awesome member!

OFFICER OF THE MONTH

Terry Jung

Secretary, Henry Foss Even though he’s only an incoming sophomore at Henry Foss High School, Terry has already become an active member in the division. He’s consistently come to DCMS and has filed his reports on time! He’s also worked to improve the future of this division by finding new potential key clubbers interested in chartering Key Clubs at their school! Thank you Terry!

IF YOU HAVE A NOMINATION, SEND THEM IN!

HI I’M AMY, YOUR CONVENTION AIDE

My goal is to work with the Convention Chair, Ryan Miura, and Co-Convention Aide, Ria Bains, to create DCON (District Convention) 2016 a weekend to remember. Assisting DCON attendees in having an effervescent experience that I also gained at DCON would be one of the biggest objectives of my term. DCON was not only a fantastic weekend, but was beneficial to me as well, giving me ideas and resources that I planned to apply in my life and school ethics. I plan to accomplish an amazing Key Club term for 2015-2016. If you have any questions, or if you simply want to have a conversation... Come talk to me! P.S. COME TO TACOMA RALLY FOR PIZZA LIKE THIS

PNW DIVISION 34 &

CNH DIVISION 35W

PENPALS What/How can I get involved?

Once a month you’d write a letter (typed or handwritten) and give that letter and/or a small item at the DCM. I would then, mail the letter down to the D35w LTG. And when he sends a respond, I’ll give the letter back to you! Why should I get involved?

This is a great opportunity to learn more key club overall and experience the differences/ similarities in another district! It’s also an opportunity to meet new people!

Hey Sharks! My name is Austin Ly and I serve as the Lt. Governor for Cal-Nev-Ha Division 35 West! Our division mascot is the Seal. We splash with service!
