Enduring a Legacy of Taste. On September 5, 1975, a group of friends raised the curtains to the first Via Mare Restaurant, namely: Glenda Rosales and Pancho Barretto, Peping and Carol Rono, Efren and Judith Bautista, Larry and Flor Tolosa, and Albert and Fely Arceo. Located in Legaspi Makati, the foundation of our company was Fine Dining Seafood Restaurant, hence “Via Mare”, which is latin for “Way of The Sea”. A clamor for the refined service of Via Mare prompted the management to establish it’s Catering Division. Since then, no other Filipino restaurant has been the top-of-mind when it comes to hosting dinners for dignitaries, heads of state, international celebrities, and international events. From beauty queens during the 1995 Miss Universe pageant in Manila, the papal visit of then Pope John Paul II, the 1996 Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit, the gala of the Philippine-run of West End’s Miss Saigon, the 2007 ASEAN Summit in Cebu, the weddings of illustrious families, and other milestones in Philippine history, Via Mare was always the top choice. By 1985, Via Mare eventually garnered the prestigious title of being the Exclusive Catering Concessionaires in the renowned Philippine International Convention Center. With Ms. Barretto herself leading the Catering kitchen, Via Mare has been hailed by different international food societies, among them are the Chaine des Rotisseurs Baillage de Manille, the Food and Wine Society, the American National Restaurant Association, the Hotel and Restaurant Association of the Philippines and the Philippine Convention and Visitors Corporation. Via Mare has changed over the years. While it maintained to be the top catering choice among the prominent and elite, it grew to accommodate the demands of its wide clientele. Café Via Mare was introduced to the market, dubbed to be a pioneer in introducing the first authentic Filipino café. The Via Mare Oyster Bar was also launched to cater to the more discriminating taste and specialized in serving the most succulent of oysters. Moving forward into the next generation, Via Mare brings its rich culinary tradition into the Frozen Food Industry – a testament that quality frozen food can be done - and our operations inside Kidzania – our effort to continue the legacy of fine Filipino cuisine through the newer generations.

bar services
Our catering provides full bar and wine service for all kinds of functions and events. It is our pleasure to assist you in providing the proper bar service based on your requirements. For your convenience, we offer the following options for bar service: 1. OPEN BAR We will provide full bar service for your function and you will be billed for all the drinks ordered by your guests 2. LIMITED BAR We provide a limited bar service for your function and you will be billed for all drinks ordered by your guests, per a pre-arranged limited bar list. 3. PER HOUR Arrangements may be made for full or limited bar service on a per hour basis. Please inquire for rates. 4. CASH BAR We provide full bar service for functions and we will bill the guests for their bar orders. 5. SERVICE ONLY In cases where you wish to provide all the wines, liquors, sodas, juices and mixers for our function you may arrange for bar services only. Our charge for bar service is Php 30.00 per person. We provide glasswares, ice garnishings and bartender only. (Prices of drinks can be sent to you upon request)

catering service terms Reservations for catering service should be made early as possible to enable us to procure items and specialties desired for the success of your function. The definite number to be served must be given to us not later than noon of the day preceding your catering service. We will be prepared to serve the number of setting you reserved and you will be held responsible for this number as a guarantee for the catering service you requested. Our minimum reservation is for 20 place settings and you will be billed for this minimun number regardless of the number of settings below the minimum requirement. For reservations of over 20 place settings, the minimum billing will be the minimum number of settings reserved, regardless of the number of settings served below the minimum. We require a 50% downpayment upon confirmation of your reservation for catering service, equivalent to half the total cost of the minimum number of place settings reserved. the balance is due immediately after the catering service.
